Most CAL pilots I know are pretty clueless about how bad it is there. Some know, and are trying to go to Southwest, but most are pretty clueless.

Our contract at XJT is so much better than CAL's, so you can see why most customers are unhappy with CAL and thrilled with ExpressJet branded.

As they say, the poop rolls down hill. LOL

speaking of clueless, your right, your contract is so much better... for now. LOL! Let us know how that Skywest takeover works out. LOL! Or were you so preoccupied with CAL bashing you weren't keeping track of what's going on in your own backyard? LOL!

I won't get as crude as the others, but friend you really are deluding yourself about people 'thrilled' with Expressjet flying. The only way anyone will be thrilled to ride on any airline is to get rid of the RJ's and given the commuter corporate structure of your company that won't happen.

I agree, however, that CAL made a serious mistake outsourcing its' regional feed to companies like CHQ, and I think that is a big reason for the drop. I don't see any flight crew taking out their frustrations on the passengers, quite the opposite.

I am an 'old school' airline pilot in the sense that I hired on with TWA in 1997 and flew with some of the best and most seasoned pilots in the industry during my nascent years as an airline pilot. I remember how it used to be, but I fear that what we are calling bad management, that is to say, cold, indifferent, out to line its' own pockets is the world that we live in today.

That is not to say that we shouldn't shoot for a much better contract in every way you can imagine but at the end of the day, the pre-2000 era for this industry is over and I fear we are in a state of continuous decline. Frankly with fuel prices where they are, what future do any of us have?

As they say, LOL.

Okay I've spent at least 5 minutes trying to figure out your story from your post and bio. Here's my best guess....
CoEx, UsAir, NetJets, back to school?

No. CoEx, Southern, another home-based non-sched (who got mad at me for using their name on a different post, so they shall remain nameless...) USAir. Back to school at the same time as Southern and USAir. Got all the miles on CAL being homebased. (revenued around...)
