Depends on the class, for a few classes everyone got the 73, then for 1 class there were a few 756 slots. I hear that there won't be anymore 756 slots till September.
 
Yet we have no coverage every month in IAH. Pretty impossible to drop and trade anything when the coverage is at minimum before the month opens.
 
there are a few that have been going to the 777 as well. I think its like 2 a month. majority 737 and a handful in the 75/76. I know there were at least 4 new hires in may 75/76 ground school.
 
From what I hear it does not really matter. If you want the 75 76 all you have to do is go through training in the 737 and wait a month or 2 then go back in again for the 7576. Heck it is a long training cycle for 2 aircraft back to back but you still get typed...dont you?
 
New Hires going?

Are most new hires going to EWR or is there a good chance one could get IAH? I suppose that is their senior base on all equipment.?
 
Actually, CLE and GUM are more senior than IAH on the 737.
 
Maybe interviews, but I'm sure hiring is only 8 a month until September. With a whole 10 pilots behind me on the seniority list I sure wish you are right!
 
I have heard similar word about hiring in the 20-24 range in June and July and then more for AUG onward.
 
A friend of mine was hired a month ago. He was told class will be Aug or Sept. but could be moved up. Anyone in the know??????????????

Heard from someone that is in the know and from what he said, the hiring throttle is going back to wide open in July due to shortages... It was confirmed this week...
 
No, apparently some fool decided to stay at Express rather than take the job offer and it's led to an increase in hiring.

And anger and stupid statements. Just ignore Pocono, she's a child and if ignored she will go away. She's a flamer.

From my instructor on Thursday. Hiring 500 between now and March 2008.
 
Is this due to all the new hires quitting and or bypassing class dates?

Maybe it's because the 15 300s that were supposed to be parked next year are staying and they need to hire an additional 150+ pilots on top of the 500 already planned by next May? Of course if it wasn't for the decreasing amount of trips being able to sleep past 4AM on day 1 or the imminent destruction of the EWR base ala CLE or possibly having my livelyhood taken away by Mesa, CHQ, Gojet, SKYW (insert bottomfeeder here), or getting really tired of LCH, MGM, BPT etc., or getting sick of 4 hr. EWR ground stops, or only 3 female FAs this year not old enough to be my mom, or only the minimum 12 days off a month after 7 years, then maybe I would have stayed at Express too! Enjoy your career in the Minor Leagues, Pocono. Let us know how that FedEx interview turns out!

This tool thinks UPS or FedEx will be calling him next week, but he could have been a great example of how certain types still slip through the cracks...
