Well, it's official. Our wonderful CAL or better yet...new UAL management just told us to f*** off and disregard our +70 seat scope. This is gonna be a battle people.

ALPA will show them. ALPA is a true union that is not afraid to take on management. ALPA is a force to be reckoned with.
Good luck.

MEC's response

On Monday, we gave you an update on the status of Continental’s plan to place the CO code on United Express flights using 70-seat jets to and from CLE, EWR, and IAH. We told you that we had exchanged information and formal arguments related to the issue and that we had provided a deadline (today) for receiving confirmation from management that they had ceased and desisted with their plans.

We received a communication from management today, but it did not include their intent to cease and desist. To the contrary, they fully intend to move forward with their plans. In light of their ill-advised decision to proceed and as we have forewarned, we will now begin work on taking the appropriate legal actions available to us in the coming days and weeks. Watch for more details from the union soon, beginning with information for upcoming SPSC events in EWR and IAH later this month.

God I hope thats sarcasm....YX comes to mind...gotta run......vomit is starting to come up my esophagus....

Instructortool, .....never mind. You are beyond redemption.

Do the CAL/UAL pilots have the stones to strike over this? NO!! They will just continue to blame regional pilots for the demise of their outsourced jobs.

There will be some harsh words to mgmnt about how disappointed we are, you can count on that. We don't mess around.

Problem is we have not outsourced our jobs to the 70 seaters(CAL) management just wants to believe they can.

I blame management pal. And yes I will strike over it if it comes to it. Unfortunately there are alot of boxes that must be checked first. If you are one of those who is content making chump change for doing mainline flying then I feel sorry for you...

DON'T FEED THE TROLL!

FFS DON'T QUOTE THE TROLL - It obviates teh purpose of the wonderful ignore feature!

Instructordude gets you guys every freakin' time. Amazing how gullible you all are.

Always two sides to the story here.

Wants to be a flight/fleet manager at an airline and screw over the rest of the pilots for his own benefit. Pathetic.

You gotta watch ALPA. They represent both regional and mainline pilots. Some MEC Chairs have the notion that bigger RJs will lead to more revenue, which will make the company HEALTHIER. (LM) Time for you guys to put a stop to this, and sue the heck out of them. HOLD YOUR GROUND!!! STEADY!!!

Heyas,

Willful violation of section one of the contract will probably be considered a "major dispute".

Filing a major dispute claim gets the NMB involved, imposes a status quo, and following mediation/arbitration can lead to a strike. Unlike minor disputes, the offending activity can also be enjoined by a federal court.

Im sure thats the direction they are going in. But as stated above, a few boxes have to be checked first. The cease and desist is probably the first official move.

If I was a Jetblue pilot, with an ALPA card drive underway, I would be very interested to watch how ALPA
handles this. Actions speak louder than words.

UAL pilots cannot strike over this. Its not a violation of their contract.

Are you guys new? There are many remedies available before a strike. Use your imaginations.

Make sure you fly the profiles in your FOM, and use the speed limitations in your books too. Gotta be SAFE out there! Wasn't someone talking about our friend "BOB" out there?

Exactly. How about talking with managment and finding some common ground. A little communication and honesty goes a long way.
Jesus Christ!!!!! How many times do you need to be b**ch slapped before you realize that there is absolutely no fricken middle ground between airline management and labor groups. They only give two s**ts about their executive bonuses and the stock price. They could not care less if a one armed, narcoleptic chimpanzee was in charge of flying the plane.

It's their job to make profits for the shareholders not make us millionaires for only working half the month. I personally believe managment would welcome us to communicate more and solve these problems. Management is not some evil group up at headquarters trying to make our lives miserable. They have a tough job and put in a lot of hours. Give them some respect for gods sakes!!
