Starting with CAL sept 18th. Will be commuting from DFW to wherever. At CAL are the extra FA jumpseats open to CAL pilots? They are at AirTran and it's a lifesaver at times. Also how many jumpseats are installed on the different aircraft, 1or2 on the 737? What is the jumpseat policy for CAL pilots, first come first serve or seniority or a mix? Can Expressjet pilots bump mainline CAL pilots on a mainline flight ever? What is the commuter policy? On a seperate note, is it likely that I could get IAH based right out of groundschool? If not, about how long would it take to hold it? I know reserve sux but what are the different types and call out requirements?
Some of this stuff has probably been previously posted but I'd appreciate any info, thanks.

lots of info. I'll take a shot.

DFW tons of commuters. Plan the first few flights to work or very heavy loads th rest of the day. About 50% rj's. Mix of CHQ & XJT.

All 737-500s have 2 jumpseats. 737-300s have some with 2 (tail # 337 and higher).

No f/a jumpseats on CAL for pilots. XJT allows them. Not sure about CHQ.
Express jumpseater can't bump CAL.
CAL flight: CAL - then Express
XJT flight: XJT - CAL - CHQ
CHQ flight: CHQ - CAL - XJT
this info helps on DFW-IAH commute primarily
IAH is a possibilty for newhires

CASS computer auto sorts jumpseats priority/seniority.

Plan to use AA a fair amount. They help a lot.

Good luck and welcome to CAL
