Ah, more of the "pay to play" that Duane Worthless was babbling about in the Alpa rag. If this is true, and that's a big if, it means that pinch-a-nickle will get to absorb the costs associated with develpoing/implementing/staffing an EMB training program. All to help CAL save costs on Express feed.

Guallable....

Look they are just using this scare tactic to get concession out of express pilots and to slim down xjets hi profit margin. They will keep all the jets and no there won't be a base in MEM or DTW or MSP How many xjets do you see there anyway....not many

There is a sucker born every minute.... especially at pinnacle

don't know about any of that...just heard that today from a friend...by the way Pinnacle is now being run by retired fedex pilots...D.O..Director of Training..etc

I heard the same thing from the girlfriends neighbors barbers best friends second cousin, twice removed, who used to work in the Cinnabon kiosk at the airport.

Is that Jimmy at Cinnabon, I just bought a crapload of stock he recommended. His last recommendation, GM Stock, didn't do so well though.

There is no "profit margin" at Express. They are paid for each seat, passenger or not, plus 10% by CAL, aren't they?

So even though XJT has until September 28, 2006 to determine what (if anything) THEY will do with the aircraft CAL is already shopping them out from underneath?

Total bunk. CAL is going to move 69 RJ's to NWA hubs? Not going to happen. CALEX flights operate from IAH, CLE, and EWR. CAL will not remove flights that generate revenue for CAL to hubs operated by NWA for NWA revenue.

Now, will Pinnacle operate the 69 RJ's from CAL's hubs? Only time will tell who will be the lowest common denominator.

If you're an Airbus Captain (and I assume with that time you mean jetBlue or USA 3000), why do you care?

Incidentally, Pinnacle is NOT run by all ex-FedEx pilots, our V.P. of Flight Ops IS an ex-FedEx Pilot, but he's the only one I know of. The rest of our company is BAILING TO GO TO FEDEX, including the director of H.R., the director of the SOC, and a lot of other people I can think of right off-hand.

Our company is ALWAYS bidding for other flying, doesn't mean we're going to get any of it. Don't believe it until a Pinnacle pilot steps onto the flight deck with a signed flight release and starts to preflight and board the aircraft.

p.s. Doesn't this belong in the regional forum?

For starters, this rumor is ridiculous. Why on earth would CAL want their planes at NWA hubs instead of their own?

Second, "pay to play" won't work with Pinnacle, because we don't have any money. Pinnacle doesn't have the cash that AWAC, Mesa, Skywest, etc... have/had. Pinnacle only has about $35 mil, and some of that is debt. We can't finance anything ourselves.

Also, we do have several former FedEx managers here now. VP Flt Ops and Dir. Training are the big two. They were both check airmen and management types at FedEx until recently retiring.

Lear70..i work at FEDEX and there are 3 fedex guys there..director of training ...the director of ops and i am not sure of the other guys title...i know clive and frank...get it right...and i guess you have know idea that jetblue and usa300(whatever that is) don't have A300 widebodies...i guess u can't read curr position...why do i care? well i guess i will take your attitude...i don't....make sure you are wearing your hat...

Last I heard Frank wasn't dir of training, it was Brad. Must be a change that I didn't catch since I've been out almost a month. We go through them at an alarming rate. I still only know of 2, maybe you should get it right.

Nope, was in a hurry and missed the FDX part. You must be prior military with only 7500 hours and an Airbus CA at FDX. Maybe YOU should lighten up, thanks for the PM by the way.

Good for you! Lighten up a bit, have some fun, don't take shiznit too seriously, it'll make you old before your time. I've commanded every aircraft you see in my profile and still manage to keep it fun, you should try it sometime.

I don't wear my hat. It's optional again. :D

I wonder if you got to know them well if they would sponsor you at FedEX???

wrong again..civilian only..didn't realize 7500 hours was lo time...i'm in my mid thirtes...should i have 10000 hrs?

Lear70...congrats on all that command time..amazing..good luck at your commuter...
Careful in that glass house you're building buddy...

I didn't used to think 7500 hours was low time, but I was under the impression that a FDX A300 CA had about 7-10 years seniority. That's a lot of years for such low time...

And yes, some of our mid 30's CA's have over 10,000 hours; they hired on here at 21 or so. No, I'm not one of them.

Lear70...no glass house here...just brick...well you are right..i have been here 11 years...got hired at 25...you are correct...no big deal....tell frank if you see him that he drives a sissy truck...and ease up man we both have lear tietacs

It's always nice to see a low time guy who lucked out, judging others. If you take the time to talk to any pilots outside of your tiny universe, you might find out there are thousands of pilots in their mid thirties with 10,000 hrs. Timing is the only thing that seperates you from those around you. The fact that a 7500 hour pilot commands a heavy is proof that anyone can fly. I find that the best airman tend to be the most humble. You obviously are the opposite of this philosophy. Sort of like the rag man driving the monster truck to over-compensate for his tiny weener. You need to educate yourself, then move on.

you are a joke...i am very humble...i was being attacked about my time and responded...lucked out my ass..called setting goals and hard work and putting youself in position for success...don't hate me cause you have struggled..i never attacked anyone on this thread..jbdc9 and i were joking and you were not in the conversation..but now that you are..get a life

Dayum... hired on at 25 at FedEx... must be nice to make those kinds of connections that early in life :) FDX has ALWAYS been WHO you know to get the interview. Wish I had those kind of connections, I'm JUST NOW getting my references/sponsors together - it's most of the reason I bid down to MEM, so hopefully I could run into FDX some guys I used to fly with going to/from work.

I don't really ever see Frank or any of those guys (he doesn't come to the pilot meetings and I avoid Corporate Offices like the plague), but if I ever see him, I'll *ahem* mention it. :D

Peace!
