Dude, who in the f**k are you? Do you fly for CAL? You've bashed the CAL rally for 3 posts in a row. You don't want to attend or watch...great, get the hell away. EVEN in times of a tough economy and EVEN in times of possible furloughs, our pilot group at CAL can still rally to show unity to each other - and that's the main reason I'll be there.

And you're right, the guys flying the turboprops have KILLED the pay at the majors. If fact, I think I heard that they are going to start running ATR's from IAH to Latin America. So suck on that CAL 73 drivers.

You really don't know much about the civilian airline pilot job. You've demonstrated that time and time again.

Here's a lesson for you, feel free to debate, or even argue. But you clearly don't have the knowledge to back it up. It wasn't regional/turbo prop, or even RJ pilots that are to blame for the low pay at the majors.

You've posted 4 times on this thread, and all 4 posts have bashed the CAL pilots or CAL ALPA. Quit flappin' your yap and consider that one of the reasons behind the rally is to show some unity to get a pay raise and insurance for the first year guys, among other things. In one post you manage to bash our crappy contract as well as our efforts to improve it. Well done, idiot.

How many years did it take you to get to that payscale? CAL's first year pay and benefits are severely lacking, but to keep things in perspective, how is the first year pay at the airline you work at?

I think I've figured you out. We have hired a lot of ASA guys, probably guys you flew with years ago, lately. Many are on year 3 pay flying widebodies for 90-100k this year. You are in what, year 10-19 or something? These guys are probably a couple decades younger than you and will make more(even if they never upgrade at CAL over the next 25 years) than you could ever make at ASA. It gets to you and so you have an anti-Major Airline Pilot issue, especially CAL now. It's okay man. They did have to go 6 months without insurance and make 30k year 1. I remember being hired at ASA in 1998 and turning them down. Let's see why..... Pay for Training, 18K the first year among other things. Things changed there for the better. Things will change here for the better however ASA will never pay with CAL will and you know you will/can never leave that place.

I am going to the rally. I will be demonstarting in unity with my fellow line pilots from CAL whom are demanding repayment of the loan.

Before all you economist/Blue Wolf types jump in to tell me what CAL can or can't afford, that is the problem. You see the problem currently is that everyone wants to help cook in the kitchen, manage expectations. We have head chefs that are payed royally to do that and they are failing. Not my concern.

By just getting INDUSTRY STANDARD WORK RULES here there would be no furlough, we would be understaffed. By pressing on to assure no less than that minimum happens here is the way to prevent furloughs.

Do you think Michelin studies each airlines bottom line before pricing a 737 tire? They have different pricing based on what an airline can supposedly afford to pay? That is the logic that has been dictating this union. This logic has gotten us to where we are now.

We are here to let them know how much and what rules it will take to put part numbers in the front of the revenue generating machines. They manage, we fly. I do not hedge oil with my paycheck. Hedging oil at CAL was a decision made my mgt. Personally I feel it was a mistake to not try to cap your largest cost (oil.) Instead they have re-upped to fly 205-220ish RJ's for 5 more years... again it would seem that high oil costs would lead to parking RJ's and covering with the lowest CASM (737-8/900) with less frequency. But again that is what they are paid the big bucks for.

The true "koolaid drinker" is the person whom is more interested in the airline economic instead of the pilot groups economics. I have no bone to pick with any other professional pilot no matter what size fuselage you fly. I hope you are leading the profession in the right direction in whatever you are flying.

I would invite you to come join us CAL pilots as we remind our owners about the loan they gladly took, and the absorbent cost advantage hedge we gave them off our backs with pay and QOL concessions. Even bringing over DAL's recently signed contract (with NO SCOPE CHANGE) we would be dramatically understaffed. CAL hasn't had to play with realistic pilot cost numbers for years and now they want to potentially use that against us. It is time to charge ahead for parity. I have no qualms about telling the company what our new industry leading scales and industry leading work-rules will look like or they won't have required part numbers to fly jets.

As you recall, on March 12th the pilots of Continental took our message directly to the Hedge Fund operators, Fat Cat Investors and Wall Street wannabes in New York City. Tomorrow will be another monumental day in the history of CAL ALPA when we deliver our message directly to our corporate managers. THE LOAN IS DUE!

Knowing that many of you will not be able to attend the event in person, we didn’t want you to miss out on this historic event. In order to facilitate your participation, we are once again going to live stream the event directly to your computers. Our first beta attempt at this was a little like creating the wheel. We managed slightly better than a Flintstone wheel on our first attempt, this time we’re shooting for more of a Goodyear Eagle!

If you are attending the event, we wanted to take this last opportunity to remind you that there will be plenty of activities for your family to keep them occupied until the Rally kicks off in Sam Houston Park. Upon sign in at the Hobby center they will be issued wrist bands for full paid admission into the Houston Aquarium. The Aquarium is only a short walk from the Hobby Center so you don’t need to worry about transportation.

If you are driving your personal vehicle to the Hobby Center you may be curious about parking. We have arranged two separate parking facilities to accommodate those of you driving. When you arrive at the Hobby Center (primary parking lot) you will receive a parking ticket, make sure you keep that so that you may get it validated (free parking!). The secondary lot is located adjacent to the Hobby center and if you click the following link it will display a map of downtown depicting the various lots mentioned above.
