Thanks but I'm not interested in the new Mustangs that Ford calls Cobras.

I did see a new Honda roadster yesterday that looked like it would perform nice with a 302 in it.
My father has a Factory Five Kit cobra with a Blown 427, I KNOW what a cobra is.

It's a funny vid, spare me BS dude.

Slap a Ken Bell blower and overdrive it, and that "Mustang" Cobra will smack that vette all day long. Over 700 to the wheels, 10's in the 1/4.

They are both brand new cars today and have the added weight of the safety equipment you speak of.

Actually they do not. No crumple zones, no crash proof occupant compartments, no bumpers even, and certainly no airbags. They do not even have a beam in the door. It is a great toy, a great looking car and there are some great spec series races for it, but it is not on par with today's offerings. Dollar for dollar there are tuner cars out there that would flat embarrass it in any situation you might contrive, even drag racing.

It's a shame that Ford puts the name Cobra on a Mustang.

oh good grief...spare the drama.

man, the 1976 version musta really had your panties up in a wad

oh, im quite familiar with the original cobra. if i recall correctly, it was actually conceived in 1961, and the first car was delivered in feb 1962. im more of a big block fan, so 1964 woulda been my pick, but i digress...

but to complain about ford deciding to utilize the cobra nameplate (and this has been going on for how many years now?) and how its such a sham, blah-blah-blah, is a worthless debate :(

chevy used the SS moniker until the demise of the F body platform, and now chrysler has recently brought the R/T back to the forefront...

...point being, enjoy them for what they are. hell, theres more than one of these rebadged cars that are running as good, if not better, than their older siblings ever did. granted, it took em 40 years to get here, but thats a whole different thread :D

the 60's are gone man, relax and enjoy ;)
