Any Motivated young CFI want to field this one for me?

What are the main differances between the 210 and the 172 RG?

I know the 210 has more power, but what about systems/controls, gear
and airspeeds?

Any inputs would be apreciated.

Thanks

About what year 210 are you talking about? 172RG's are all basically the same, but the 210's been around for awhile, so things changed over the years.

Weeeel...

the 210 does have more power, depending on things like engine model, and turbo or nornally aspirated.

No wing struts. The un-strutted Cessnas have a safety record that is not nearly as good as the strutted Cessnas, probably more a function of who the end user is than a design flaw.

The 210 has a pressurized version, too.

Dick Collins flys a 210 (former Flying editor, if you are a young guy) with a radome under the right wing. Nice airplane...

The 210 is called a "Centurion", and the 172 RG is a "Cutlass."

That's all that comes to mind right now.

The old 210's did have wing struts but for only a year or two. ITs about the worst airplane I ever flew. The 172 RG is ok but is prone to gear problems. Id prefer something else in a complex airplane

C210

I know a little bit about the C-210, My Dad had a 63 210C and a 81 T210N. The 1960 210 is a 59 182 with retract, and I think 240 hp and some with fuel injection. From 62 they were longer and had 260 or 285hp, dont know what one it is tho. 67 they took the strut off. A 1965 T210 went to an alt of 42,500 feet I read somewhere. They are good planes, fast, but hey dont have the best landing gear.
