Hey guys, been flying the C182R around a lot, and might be moving into the C182Q. Was wondering if anyone knew the major differences between these two types. Are there any big differences in systems, V-speeds, weights, etc? If so, what are they?

Thanks much all.

They, both hav pitch, yaw, and roll! everything else you need is in the first few pages of the POH!

Have we gotten to the point where people just don't realize that an airplane is an airplane? If you can fly one type of 182, I'm sure that you can figure out the other one. Have some confidence in your training and FLY the thing, don't let it fly you.

I think I was more polite? But well said!!!!!

Guys guys, I just wanted to know what the deal is before I can get my hands on a POH. I've heard they have a pretty different MTOW, and probably due to that, different speeds.

I have no doubt that I'll be able to hop in it and fly it... a 182 is a 182. Heck, a Cessna single is a Cessna single.

flyf15-

The difference is between fuel injection and carburetion. The R is fuel-injected; the Q carbureted.

That's about it. It's like the difference between a 172P and a 172R or S.

Are you sure? I thought the "new" models started with the 182S, the R was still the O-470, but I could be wrong.

I think you are right and I am wrong. In the 182 series, the S & T are the fuel-injected models. My fingers were typing 182 but apparently my brain was locked in a 172!
