Don't know if anyone saw the (replay) today of various FAA inspectors attesting to the internal strife at the agency. Seemed interesting.

I got the jist that what happened at SWA is not a SWA issue, it is across the major airlines.

I particularly enjoyed the congresswoman from California's closing statement. She stated that she was not happy about having to get on an airplane to fly home. It reminds me of Mary "I wouldn't put my family on an MD80" Schiavo. Shameless sensationalism.

As a society, we do a terrible job of evaluating risk.

"Freakonomics" should be required reading for most politicians and all 24-hr newsroom producers.

it will increase FAA oversite on all levels and thus increase costs. now will the costs be pushed to the customer or to the employees??

These days, both. Pay Cuts for you and me, then raised prices for the customer.

Any extra gravy at the end of the day goes to the executives in the form of bonuses and incentives.

Alfred Cahn was once quote on many an occasion concern deregulation not having any affect on safety.

Cahn was wrong again. Cahn was wrong about everything!
