Just got back from Hawaii. Guess how much city bus drivers on Oahu make (unionized)?
Anyone, anyone...............Bueller.........
65,000/Yr

Say, isn't that the same as, well, nevermind.

All I am saying is that we need to grow some stones in this industry.

Are they hiring?

At a cost of living index of 162% over the national average...$65,000 does not go really far. The compensation is closer to $40,000 of actual money. Never the less $40,000 is a "living wage" and is much more than a new hire will make at CO, FedEx, UPS, United...and so on. However when the Bus Drive is making his/her $40,000 (adjusted) after 5 years...the 2nd year FedEx F/O will enjoy his/her $90,000+ wage in Memphis, where the cost of living index is 89% so that $90,000 is closer to $100,000...and in several years will be pulling in over $200,000 (not adjusted).

Bottom line is that the Railway Labor Act sucks...and driving a bus sucks, driving an airbus can suck and does sometimes, but the money is a bit better

So is that $65000 starting pay, or are you quoting their pay the same way USA Today does with pilots?
