Pardon my ignorance, but wouldn't you use at least one of these forms every time you flew? What other forms of navigation are there besides these listed?
I suppose INS would be considered electronic navigation. Hmmm... I dunno, you have your sexton and star charts for celestial navigation?

Seems like anything exept another airport you can see immediately after takeoff might be justified one way or another by the "means of navigation" definition.
 
I was in the same spot a while back. I doesn't have to be more than 50nm for it to count towards your 135 mins. I just added a <50nm x-country column in my logbook.
