Building Multi Time

Im looking to rent, or split the cost of renting a reasonable multi-engine airplane. I am currently living in minneapolis but can travel to other locations (near a large airport) on the weekends if anyone is interesed in splitting some multi engine time, or owns a multi engine and would like to share the cost of some flight time.

Curiously, I happen to live in the Twin Cities too.

I've noticed there's a shortage of TC flight schools or FBOs renting twins at reasonable rates. Anoka Flight just got rid of their Seminole. I believe Knowlton Flight at Crystal used to offer some sort of 135 right-seat time-building program, but it was unclear how legally loggable that would be as either PIC or SIC time.

Have you looked into Ari Ben in Florida or Skymates in Texas? They both offer ME time-building programs. 100 hours for $6-7000. www.aribenaviator.com www.skymates.com

the message board at www.jetcareers.com has several threads on Ari Ben and the general take seems to be that it's a pretty good timebuilding program and about as cheap as you can get.

If you are willing to drive an hour, St. Cloud MN has three Dutchesses for $146 an hour. Time requirements are:

300tt, 35 multi, 15 in dutchess plus a checkout w/ FBO MEI
or
300tt, 100multi, 2 hrs in dutchess w/ FBO MEI
