Of course timing is important. But there are no opportunities if you don't persist and prepare for when they come. If you had not built experience as a pilot USA jet would not have been an option. And maybe we won't end up exactly where we want to be, but we can persue and prepare for the the career we want to be ready for the opportunities that may come our way, DV.
yes but the luck of my friend telling me about the job was the key to success in this case. My preparation and skills had prepared me for a job at NWA, DAL, SWA etc, but in those cases my persistence did not result in a career job.
