What ever happened to ole MK?

I was woking the night when one the ATR's diverted to Waycross. ATC called FC to tell them your ATR diverted to AYS with an engine problem. FC said where the hell is Waycross.

The AYS landing has to be the best ASA ATR story there is!!

I was kinda hoping for some stories about the ATR that don't really involve flying, if you know what I mean...

There is one nameless classic ATR pilot who broke in the FA in the cargo compartment with not just one FA but 3, not at the same time though. I have seen guys who smoke out of the document door on long taxi's.

You should see how many smoke out of the RJ cockpit escape hatch. I remember one with his whole head out the hatch in JFK during a three hour wait.

I remember flying the last flight out to PFN one night. Took off on 28, got a left turn hdg 200 on T/O and kept the hdg all the way to PFN and flew at 10,000. The funny thing was that we took off 5 minutes ahead of a 700 going to PFN, and landed 5 minutes ahead of it.

In the hotel van, the 700 captain was pi$$ed that we beat them there. I mean this guy was genuinely mad about it. Some of those jet guys just crack me up...
ATR72 FTW!!!

I took off behind an ATR once from PFN or VPS maybe, and we blew by him after climbing above 10K. I think we beat them by 15 min. I know, but we burned more gas!

You can actually save quite a bit of time by climbing at 500FPM and leveling off low in the ATR, and the fuel burn isn't all that much more, either.

BTW it feels awfully lonely in there with all that porn ripped out. What the hell.

That bada bingg Perry Como long blade prop mafia joint has its own persoality. Its BAD. I know there is 2 Chief Pilots that WILL not nder any cirgumstances go there. Oh hell no they say, I aint going over there even if they are out of paper, if the rampers don't get ya the crews will. We never would be seen again,...

What got me was how visibly mad this guy was that we beat him. He was a complete a$$ to us (the entire crew). I wish I was as cool as him, a barbie jet driver and all...

I, for one, am going to miss all the help and assistance the ATR crews have given ATL ATC over the years. Y'all have been very accomodating when we ask you to take a lower altitude so we can turn you out to satellite radar, or when we've told you to throw the anchor out on final (love how fast you guys can slow down to final apch speed!!), or when you make Twy N-10 (that first reverse high speed) when landing Rwy 27L, so the B777 from Dubai behnd you won't have to go around. I think the majority of ATL tower folks feel the same way and have apppreciated all your efforts over the years - big kudos to all our ATR crews - and best wishes with your transition to the RJ.

They are gay. That's what's wrong.

Says who? All you need is a pink shirt and 5 o'clock shadow and you've got a good 'Miami Vice' look going. White jacket optional.

Now if they where sandles with the pink shirt, that might be gay.

Who's at NASA?

Ahh, the ATR....aka "the cloud plow", "the frog", the baby bus or for those that have flown it....the party bus!!!
Best over night ever was on an ATR overnight in CVG. Something about; Mt. Adams, Newport on the Levee then Pacinko's makes the girls crazy!! Maybe it was knowing you had 24+ hrs with an ATR crew that got them crazy but there were definately some fun nights out on those over nights.
Oh and those same crazy FA's liked to do crazy things in that fwd cargo hold ; )
Sad to see it go....
