BP Pilots spend/spent a LOT of time sitting in London. Since the merger the company is London based, but yet the airplanes were Chicago based... Really didn't make sense, and it was only a matter of time before this happened.

You're exactly right, Falcon Capt. Everytime I've been to Luton in the last two years there's been a BP Amoco Gulfstream on the ramp. The crews have told me that the aircraft remain in London and the crews have been rotating from Chicago to the Grosvenor Marriott. Sad.

Yup, I heard that at least a few of their pilots attained Marriott Platinum Status (requires 75 nights per year) by using their Grosvenor stays alone! That is a LOT of sitting around! I knew a guy who used to work there, he twice airlined to London, sat for 9 days and airlined home, never seeing the airplane once... Just didn't make sense...

I understand that they're also going to be going with NetJets, using the shares instead of their own aircraft.

I recently made friends with one of their pilots and their flight dept. is going away and NetJets will be involved. And yes, I heard this from him on the ramp @ Luton.
