The Transportation Security Administration is
a bureaucratic sewer riddled with major failures.

How can you RIDDLE a sewer with major failures?

Big Slick,

Give us your take on it.

I think Boyd is trying to court Embraer by giving them what they want to hear.

The real story, IMHO, is how price hikes are finally sticking. It's due to a more "financially stable" customer in a booming economy. Air travel is way up over the last couple of years. This summer is a blockbuster and profits will show it.

And prices are set to go higher as DAL, NWA and AA get ready to take more capacity out of key markets to further tighten loads.

Sounds like to me this report supports the JetBlue 190 biz plan. I don't buy it and a 4th grader could probably make a better powerpoint presentation.

He Big Slick, I heard there is a SWA bashing thread over at pprune, hurry before you miss it. :smash:

Sure, there may be fewer "new" markets to connect like Lincoln and JFK that make sense, but you can certainly connect all of the existing markets in the system. Jet Blue already has 30-40 destinations and this "connecting the dots" is accelerating - note the recent SYR-MCO announcement. JB and AirTran will follow Southwest's lead and just connect all of the dots on a high frequency basis and actually create more demand with lower fares... Why start up Lincoln to JFK when you can use capacity between existing destinations in which an infrastructure (gates, ticketing) is already set up?

Boyd makes a lot of predictions (some are super intuitive like the glut of 50-seat RJs - wow I never considered that!!!!) and he's right about 50% of the time. It's like throwing a dart to a dart board - sometimes you are going to hit the target...

He doesn't have to, he's already a consultant for them.;)

In that case Embraer is screwed, sell their stock immediately as Boyd is more likely to be wrong or rearview mirror looking than right.

On the other hand, Embraer will likely thrive despite the mistake of using Boyd's opinions.
