Well, had the interview, I think it went pretty well.
Chief pilot ,seems like a good guy, director of Flight ops, another good guy and someone else ( cant remember name or position) sat down with me after I completed a written exam ( see previous posts for content). Was more like an informal discussion about me, very relaxing atmosphere.
Asked me about the Beech, the whole drunk captain and non checklist using captain quiz, why BMA, what can I bring etc.
Whole thing lasted about an hour, seemed like 15 mins.
Then went over to HR after filling out paperwork, for benefit info and another little interview.
Asked a lot of questions about Colgan, told me about where they see the company in the next few years etc.
Said I would hear in 4 or 5 days.
Forgot to ask about per-diem anyone who knows could you let me know please.
Thanx, Mung.

Leaving Colgan

I havent been offered the job yet so I dont know if I am leaving.
I have several reasons but am not willing to reveal them yet, we'll just have to see what happens.
Thanx for the concern though, Mung.

So,

I guess they told you about the 6 on 1 off. Salary, with no overtime. No vacation...no 401K, no flight benefits for anyone other than your spouse and children..and only on PAA. They also told you about trying to break the PAA union, that you will want to fly on. The five year plan included you flying 727's that should be at Main line where there is a contract etc etc.

Good Luck...I am sure the per diem thing will make all the difference. Especially because they can modify that rate or remove it anytime they want. If you want to compare notes send me a PM.

BMA

Not to start a war here but the CP told me that the 72's were staying on PAA's own cert, the five year plan did not involve 72's but a larger turboprop.
They did mention the six on one off and that there is no 401K, they did not mention breaking the PAA union.
If you could PM me any details I should be aware of please do so.
THanx, Mung.

6 on 1 OFF!!??!!

OMG, sounds like F'ing hell to me. I can't imagine that Colgan is worse than that.

Well, good luck dude.

After examining the current status of certain domestic markets and considering the
opportunities presented by service reductions implemented by other carriers, BMAC has
decided to expand its initial interstate service proposal to include B-727-200 aircraft service
in three additional city-pair markets; Manchester (MHT)-Orlando (SFB), Manchester-Myrtle
Beach (MYR) and Myrtle Beach-Orlando. BMAC’s planned first-year flight schedule for
service in the foregoing markets is contained in Exhibit BMA-S/6- 1, infra. BMAC
estimates that the foregoing expanded interstate service will require two additional B-727-
200 aircraft, each configured to carry 141 passengers, and both to be leased from Guilford
Transportation Industries, an affiliated company, on the same lease terms as those applicable.

This is an excerpt from the above mentioned DOT documents. Funny how people won't go to work there when they mention this part of the operation.

think hard, a friend of mine was thier and almost walked out do to poor pay, life style and one very uncertain future. According to them BMA has not paid a large portion of it bills. Colgan sounds better to me.

Its interesting what BS can get slung in the face of an interviewee when someone is desperate for pilots to come because we've already gotten such a bad name. It is true what 727PAA said about what BMA is trying to do to PAA and break the union. Perdiem if its the deciding factor and I hope its not is $1.10 per hr. It is true they are hiring more pilots so the schedules SHOULD get better but thats no guarentee because of the incomp management at the top. Craig J. who is the manager of flight ops is the only acception to this and is a straight shooter and well respected in the pilot group fighting hard for better things. As far as No 727s and a larger turbo prop we have heard nothing about this but things change hourly around here so thats no suprise to me.
