I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a good Boston Area AME. I hate going to a new AME, but traveling to my old one Doc is just not practical anymore. I prefer the eye exam that is all the wall instead on the machine and the less prodding that is done with latex gloves on the better! South Boston would be my best bet! Thanks!

And on a side note, nice work on the new Medical Area Websitemaster! I'm sure it will help alot of people!

Dr. David E. Rosengard. He was one of LBJ's White House doctors. Yah, he's that old. I think he's around 85 now. Eye test is via a machine but everything else is as easy as it gets. Telephone number is 617-268-1501. Located at 380 West Broadway. Every once in a while Rosengard tells a great story about his days with LBJ.

Thanks for the help! Usually the older Doc's are the best ones!

I second Rosengard. You will get a kick out of his hearing test. "Can you hear me" If I recall, I paid $60 for a first class about 2 years ago. He is in South Boston.

I'm going to call and schedule with him Tommorow. Is there anyone that would like me to say hi?

Looking for an update to this thread. Is this guy still good/around? Need a Boston doc with an easy eye exam. Anyone know one?

Easy eye exam? As in, no check of your eyesight? It's the only place I've ever gone so it is hard for me to compare to another AME. There is a color vision test, regular eyesight test and a quick test on your ability to gauge depth. That's all.

I went to a doc once and the nurse was extremely anal about the eye test. Had to do each eye individually, couldn't miss 1 letter. Then I've had some docs where they just have you read the 20/20 line with both eyes at once and if you can read it you're fine. The difference is subtle, but a big one if you are just barely correctable to 20/20, and one eye is worse than the other.
