"To our valued customers, it is with great regret that we inform you, that effective February 29, 2008, Pan Am Clipper Connection has suspended all scheduled flight operations. From all of us here at Pan Am Clipper Connection, we sincerely thank you for your continued patronage over the years."

question: how are they even advertising charter service if the DOT is going to yank their cert?

It's about time. All associated with BMA got what they deserve...nothing scumbags! Put BMA Mgmt on the Lorenzo list of never again in the airline business.

I wonder how the PanAm name will resurrect itself next time.

If I remember right, you were a BM Air pilot at 1st, flying there CASA's.They are the people who let you get qualified in the 727 by moving over to Pan Am. I think you are the person who should hang your head low.

Just because they hired him does not mean he owes them anything. He was hired to do a job which he obviously did. There is no loyalty unless the company offers its hand first. He did his job and was rewarded with the pay he "earned". The owner of Pan Am had money and didnt have to hire and furlough like it was a carnival ride.

To set the record straight. I was a Pan Am pilot who was fired along with my fellow ALPA pilots. The BMA scabs came in and wanted to be B727 Capts for $5000/mo salary, well over 50% less than I was making and help bust our union. The ones I spoke with were furloughed TWA that were current and qualified on the B727. They, in their own words, had a bone to pick with ALPA due to the American Airlines merger. To this day, it doesn't make sense why they would take it out on us. God knows we tried to enlighten them on BMA's plan. There were two others, one furloughed Delta and the other United who promptly quit BMA when they understood what was going on.
So, Capt 1500 hrs Robert, did I fly for BMA, NO! I went on unemployment until I found another job, one that was not taking the place of another fellow professional aviator. Those were tough times for my family but we survived. Work for BMA, did not do it, never would. More should think twice before taking a job unlike the 5000+ on 'the list'.

They flew into the airport I work at today for DOD/ DOJ contract flying. So the 727's are at least still flying. I know it was BMA but at least on a positive note it was nice seeing a 727 still flying!

I remember seeing the 727s as a kid, well not really a kid but not an adult, and thinking "WOW, Pan Am! Heh, the more I find out about this company, the worse I feel!
