Bombardier announced today they are going to discontinue production of the CL-65 early next year and also mentioned that they are thinking of canceling the C series aircraft design.

They're way behind on this and might as well spend their development dollars elsewhere. EMB pretty much handed them their arse with the EMB 170 (and its varients). The CRJ 700/900 is about the most uncomfortable passenger experience on the planet if you're anything over about 5'8" tall.

Bombardier will have this "C" Jet out just in time for a new "RJ" market to takeoff...now that is thinking out side the box.

You still can't stand up in the lav and carry ons don't fit in the overhead bins.

Check the thread called "Bombardier halts production of the 50-seat jet".
You do know the 70 and 90 seat CRJ's are also CL-65's, right?

Its like a mini, uncomfortable 737 or A320, only they label it a "regional jet."

Embraer had the 170/190 on the drawing board before the 145. They threw the 145 together to compete with the CRJ in a short period of time. Embraer called it a flaming success if they sold only 200 145's.

I cant wait to fly one! I dont care what I'll get paid because its a shiny jet! I would look really good in my uniform flying one as well!

Who called it a "regional" jet?

ALPA......or they will. It doesn't say Boeing or McDonnell Douglas or Airbus on it anywhere. It must be flown by the low experienced commuter pilots, and in a side note.......they are taking our jobs!!!!

Anyone have a pic of the "New" C Series RJ? Supposed to look like a E 170/190.

ANY THING THAT HOLD 110-130 SEAST IS NOT A DAMN RJ. IT IS AN AIRLINER. ARE YOU KNOW GOING TO CALL A-319 OR 737 RJ'S?

Airline management called it a regional when discussing what they're gonna pay the pilots.

Strangely, marketing calls it a something else (like large, roomy, and ANYTHING but a regional jet)
