Job Description The Chief Pilot has the overall responsibility for the pilot function within Executive Flight operations reporting to the Director. Directly supervises the Assistant Chief Pilot, Chief of Standards & Training, Chief of Safety, Chief of Security and Scheduling. Maintain current knowledge of emerging developments within the aviation community including FAR¿s and other Federal, state, local and foreign regulations. Assist in the developing, implementing, and enforcement of flight department processes and standard operating procedures. Ensure all ground and flight operations comply with applicable federal and local flight regulations and requirements. Responsible for ensuring training and safety standards are maintained with a focus on continual improvement. Will interact regularly with customers, employees, industry peers and suppliers. Management responsibilities include developing pilots, budget and performance targets, establish business plan and initiatives to drive performance. Works as a member of the leadership team in concert with the other managers in the organization to run the daily business.
Competencies Extensive knowledge of aviation procedures, and operations. Should exhibit independent judgment, initiative and flexibility; highly responsive to the needs generated by the day-to-day activities and schedule; proactive; plans tasks; leads in a team environment. Outstanding customer service focus and mindset is crucial. Ability to effectively communicate with crews plus all levels internal and external of Boeing. Demonstrates discretion in handling sensitive information. Understands and models Ethical standard of behavior. Skilled pilot with the following minimums: ATP, 2000 turbo-jet hours, prefer Bombardier and Boeing product line type rating experience and 7 years corporate/airline/air-taxi/or military experience.
Education Prefer 4 year degree from an accredited college and NBAA certification program ¿ Certified Aviation Manager.
