NEW YORK — Boeing Co. (BA) on Monday said its board forced out president and chief executive officer Harry Stonecipher (search) after the married 68-year-old had an affair with a female executive at the company, saying his leadership abilities had been damaged.

The unexpected ouster makes Stonecipher, who spent just 15 months in the top job, the second consecutive CEO to depart the Chicago-based airplane maker and defense contractor in disgrace.

The worst thing about this incident is the fact that he is 68 years old.

The "...worst thing..." ? Let the comments/Viagra jokes begin....

My question is this: why didin't the woman involved have her name, age, ad picture published and get forced out of Boeing by the board? Seems they were doing the same thing, and violating the same policies.

Potus: Ok Ceo: Not Ok

What is the big deal? It wasn't like she was an intern and he was diddling her with a cigar or anything. Jeez, it's the guys personal life for chrissakes... Did he lie to the board or a grand jury or something about it? Did he make a speech to the employees of Boeing and emphatically deny having sex with the woman? This smacks of a gigantic right wing conspiracy.

I want to see pictures myself to see if it was worth it for him, you know losing his job and all.

He won't be missing any meals. No one has to hold a telethon for him. He's now a folk hero.

I know that he isn't going to be out on the street (well not without being in the back of a limo). But it's still a blow to his personal pride.

Shawn,

"...personal pride." can't be used/isn't required to buy groceries. This guy has no worries unless he has a wife...in which case, he will be out on the street...uh oh...shoulda thought of THAT, huh ?

Never let the little head think for the big head...

I think she probably already provided a blow to his personal...pride.
