hi everyone

Any BMA pilots or staff in here? I was supposed to start my groundschool for the jetstream on march 23 but it was suddenly canceled until further notice. Besides the usual crap this airline receives in this forum, anyone knows what really is going on with them?I call everyweek but they dont say anything. i heard there were 4 pilots on furlough. thanks for any info.

Didn't someone say they were ordering some new Piper Cadets? They probably don't want to lay out the training cost on the J31 to then have you transition to the cadet.

I could be wrong though.

Wasn't BMA getting 727's ? What happened to THAT ?

All I have to say if you haven't figured it out yet is STAY AWAY! RUN, DON"T walk. This place is nothing but career suicide ESPECIALLY if they get the 727s on their certificate so FINK the owner can bust the Pan-Am union and put all those pilots out of jobs. The shadiest, scariest operation I have ever had the misfortune of coming in contact with! There is WAY too many other places out there hiring....ANYPLACE better then BMA! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YIKES !!! You got my attention. Any details you can offer publicly ?

the only thing i wanna know is why the scheduled ground class was halted. there is nothing worst out there than Air St. Thomas and i have been thru that already. any other news? it sure beats flight instruction . thanks

I have more than one friend that works at BMA.

It is no doubt a start up airline with a lot of problems, but I really wouldn't listen to much of what AngryNHpilot says.

Iagree with skymonkey. In todays global world, unions no longer have a place. One thing is for certain, the market place will decide what happens, and the old time major airlines needs to get onboard a change.
I paid union dues for over 15 years and the only thing that I got from it was a lay-off notice.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with a lay off.

I think the word luck is important when you talk about the airlines. Sometimes what seems like the most educated decision turns out to be a total life changing set back.

I believe Unions have their place at certain organizations.

Unfortuneately, when your numbers are small, the benifits of having legal representation are usually small as well.

Then again, what the hell do I know?

Go read todays Wall Street Journal
It sums it very well for pilots. The days of making 250K and only working 6 months is over.
