Anyone go thru the certification process if they have to control BP with medication....I was just wondering about procedure to notify the FAA if you have to take meds and you still have about 3 months before your next medical.

Is there a 2 week grounding when you start the meds before you can get certified??

Was just curious about procedure......

And I am on a better diet and exercise plan to loose weight to get the BP down....

Thanks

THere's plenty of info online but it's not a big deal. you will need, within the 90 days prior to your FAA exam:

1. A statement from your primary doctor indicating the medication and dosage, it's working, organ function is normal and there are no adverse side effects.
2. Labs to back up above statement.
3. Three BP readings taken at least 24 hours apart to back up above statement.

After the first time, it will be required annually.
