I blocked in at around 950 hours this year, but credited about 1325. this doesn't include vacation, holiday, etc.

just curious as to the ratio at your airline.

oh, and embdrvr, I can hear you furiously typing your rant now. I'll save you the time. we suck, you know more about us than we do, you're right, we're wrong, and even though we think we have it good, we're really screwed and just don't know. there you go!

that rocks! standups?

He flies for UPS. That's actually pretty typical for those guys. Some of the reserve guys are actually blocking less than 100 hours a year and needing to go to the sim to keep current. A truly beautiful system if you live in SDF.

I was actually asking about SkyNation's days off.

What fleet are you on 80for80? How long you been there at Big Brown?

Wow...and your close to 40 years old? Judging by most of your posts I'd have thought you were closer to 20.

Your right on track to become the next General, get a new hobby before it's too late.

157 true days off.

no. that is 157 days I was awarded off and didn't pick up anything. If I had never picked up any extra, it'd be much more. I can hold 16+ days off per month.

Oh christ here we go again. But Jeez bud...950 hours? No wonder why you pis$ skywest kool-aide. You never get away from that place. Get a freakin life would ya!

I work a lot by choice. I love how when all else fails, ya'll resort to the same ol' crap.

I asked about block/credit because I don't know how it is elsewhere. I fully anticipate the tired old 'you only think you have it good' speeches from all the usual suspects.

thanks to those of you who aren't tired, bitter and self loathing types who contribute worthwhile replies.

Speaking of same ol' crap, do a search on your posting history and see if you notice a pattern.

Same old crap? Everyone is just pointing out that work a hell of a lot harder than most of us. Personally, I've never flown more than 625 hours in a single year. I've averaged about 550 a year during my career. I can't possibly imagine how miserable I would be if I flew 900+ hours. If you really enjoy spending your entire life in a cramped up cockpit with another dude, then have at it.

I'm guessing it would indicate that I'm a guy who is happy in my job.

gee, what a crime.

Wrong!!!!!!

I was talking about the fixation you have with your paycheck and feeling the need to compare it with anybody that will engage you. It's tacky.

$53000 on 2nd year FO pay at SkyWest. picked up extra, worked hard most of the year, slowed down near the end to attend to other things.
I have been curious what FOs make at other companies. what will your W2 be this year? do you work a lot, as little as possible, etc? how does open time work at AWAC?

I believe it, and my paycheck verifies it.
and yet SkyWest pilots make much more overall. why do you think that is?

from my 7/7/2006 paystub (pay period ending 6/30/2006, or half the year)

Total Gross Earnings $29145.61

if the 2nd half of the year ends up like the first, I'll be over $58,000

all doubters and...

I'll make about $58,000 as a 2nd year FO here at SkyWest. If every other regional has a structure that pays their pilots more, then we're substandard....
Well Sport, it's like this. This is the Regional board.

Yes, I'm comparing W2s. Hourly rate is only part of the equation.
I made about 24K my first year. The first year anywhere sucks, what else is new? I will more than double that this year.

wow! you really spent a lot of time on that, awesome!

I respond this way because folks on this board are constantly trying to paint SW pilots as poor souls who are getting screwed by their company. our pay and overall QOL is proof positive that we, in fact, aren't.

as the old saying goes, money talks. until someone can fool me into buying into the false idea that we are among the lowest paid, lowest QOL, etc. pilot groups among the regionals, I'll respond in kind with obvious evidence that we aren't.

Actually not that hard. Right click on your name, search previous posts, and viola, there they are in all their glory. Unfortunately it is you that has spent way too much time bragging about your paycheck on FI.

Why do you care... who are you trying to prove your point to? 2000 other Skywest pilots don't seem to give a @#$@#!

Your posts do not do anything to validate what most of us already know. That skywest is probably a pretty decent place to work for.

All they do is make your pilot group look like a bunch of tools. Luckily I know enough skywesters to know better.
