I hit a seagull coming out of BKL years ago in a Cit II. We thought it missed us but after landing, we discovered that it smacked us square in the engine pod. 6inches the other way, and it would have been ingested. Might have made for a nice emer landing back in over Lake Erie on a snowy winters night.

Not to take anything away from Sully, but the statistical odds of that occurance have to be astronomical. Think he could do it again and have the same outcome? Even Chuck Yeager has to be scratching his head on this one.
