Just had a flight in an open cockpit Stearman biplane over New Orleans. Probably the best 1/2 hour of my flying history. Highly recommended! I have lots of pics for anyone intreasted.

Just wanted to share with everyone the joy I had flying!!

Open cockpit flying is great. I'll look at some pictures.

I took my first ride in a Waco UPF7. Later in life I got to help restore it. Before we covered the top wing we all lined up and mooned the camera.

If anyone is restoring a Waco and finds a picture in the top wing stapled to a rib of 6 guys with vertical smiles....I'm the one second from the right.:D

Wind through the wires

Glad to hear you enjoyed your Stearman flight! It is an awesome airplane, that is best shared with pilots like you who appreciate it.

Took my first flying lesson in a Stearman at Dauster Field (creve Coeur) in St Louis, MO. Hooked me good...

A friend of a friend owned a Stearman back around '96. That was one of the best moments of my life. Got to fly around for an hour or so in a beatiful PT-17 over Atlanta. I didn't come down for days after that! :D

Sounds like fun. The only problem is that without a heater, my head got pretty cold bobbing up and down in the wind. I had a bit of freezer burn on my cheeks (face cheeks that is) when I was done, but my smile went from ear to ear. Gives a new perspective to the folks that flew the mail in all kinds of weather using open cockpit birds!
