With Big Sky acquiring more 1900's and additional routes, how is there pilot group? Number of pilots, will they be taking on additional pilots? Any time frame?

Take any info you have.

Thanks

So they really did get 1900s? We don't hear anything about Big Sky over at Mesaba. After all, Big Sky is a separate company and shouldn't be conserned with what goes on over there. Aside from the fact that we support them financially. If they really do have 190ss, I guess Foley has been putting some of his time to good use. It'll be interesting to hear more of the same rhetoric when the earnings call comes 'round. But to answer your question... haven't a clue.

Pro,

I'm sure the Big Sky folks could reply more accurately but according to their own website they still only operate 19 seat Metros. I believe there are only 10-12 aircraft operating. The website announces new service but it is replacing other service.

They have several customer service positions open and say they are taking apps for pilots, also, chief pilot position open with a SA227 type is required. Doesn't sound like 1900s anytime soon.

From one of there pilots, BigSky management has been wearing new "Raytheon" hat's/shirts exc. And they are running upgrades as we speak to get more PIC's in the metro so that the current PIC's can go to 1900 class soon. And that the current interviewee's are being told that they are going straight into the 1900's.

Now with all that said. I still have yet to see it in writing.

So if some how it turns out to be untrue this is my safe-harbor statement

Shouldn't be much of a problem to find 1900D's. There were more than a few of them on the ramp in FMN when I was last there...;)

I guess we'll find out soon enough if that's where all of XJ's money will go. It's not like we need more staffing or working equipment on our ramps.

air midwest is selling 6 of them to big sky. delivery mid may.

Actually they will be leasing the aircraft from Air Midwest. I believe delivery will begin well before May since they need to meet the TAWS requirement deadline of 3/29/05.
