A fellow colleage told me that NWA was looking for a third ticket to fly the 170's and get around scope. Does MESABA BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ring a bell. Mesaba own's Big Sky, right? Is Big Sky bound by NWA scope? WAKE UP PEOPLE? This is the new status quo.

Contrary to my better judgement I clicked the "View post" option to see what this guy had to say since I put him on my ignore list. I would advise everyone else to do the same. If we all ignore him, he'll go away. Hopefully...

Moderators? What does it take to get banned for life? Isn't this guy pushing it?!

The truth is not for everyone. My words represent the gospel in this industry. If you are not in agreeance with this thread, you will pull your foot out of your mouth later. Why do you think that Mesaba bought Big Sky, genious? Cash Flow? .............Dork.

You can put your foot in your mouth now then. All flying over 19 seats by MAIR Holdings (which owns Big Sky) must be done by pilots on the Mesaba Airlines seniority list, so unless MAIR Holdings wants to use Big Sky Airlines with Mesaba pilots to fly those planes, it won't happen.

PS - "agreeance" isn't a word...which makes you the "geniuos" (sp incorrect) I suppose.

So you are telling me that Mesaba has a separate ticket waiting to fly the 170's and all that they have to do is get Mesaba pilots to fly them.

No, I am just relaying to you what Mesaba's Section 1 (Scope) says about their Holding company (MAIR Holdings) and its obligations to the Mesaba pilots. MAIR Holdings can use any shell company it wants to fly aircraft larger than 19 seats...but it must use pilots from the Mesaba Airlines seniority list.

O.K...............Did I not just say that? I know that the BIG SKY seniority list is massive, but could you ever consider the fact that they would join the Mesaba list if 170's were coming? 80 percent happy and 20 percent ticked off ring a bell?

I know only a little about your scope section...but it comes from reading it, talking personally to Tom Wychor and Jane Schraft (your MEC's Contract Administrator)...sorry to "waist" your time. :D

But generally, I agree with you...the guy who started this thread is a few cards short of a full deck.

Friggin' Amazing. I heard Big Sky was getting 37's, not 170's. Go Denzel!!!!

I heard that it was 37 170's for now. As for the 73's, Mesaba is currently working on starting a LCC with Big Sky to directly compete with NW on a few mainline routes. These will be old 200's from SWA allegedly and maybe a few -9s from the mainline as they retire. Apparently, the scope clause doesn't apply if the aircraft is at least 50 years old and has a modern paint job.

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE BUY THIS @$$ A GARBAGE TRUCK, CAUSE HE NEEDS IT WITH ALL THE CRAP HE IS SPEWING OUT OF HIS UNEDUCATED MOUTH.

Hello McFly..... MAIR bought BigSky as a union busting tatic during MAIR's contract talks. It had nothing to do with making money or not off BigSky ops.

Isnt it obvious to everyone else that operating 73-2's or 170 's is the most cost effective way to service EAS routes to places like Sidney, MT? HA HA HA
