Does anyone know anything about Big Sky airlines? How they treat pilots? Upgrade times? Pay? And how they are viewed by the rest of the airline industry? Thanks in advance!

Billings is a great place to live.......no body realy talks about them because thier really isnt that much to talk about. Could be a good or a bad thing. Small company but good people.

It's what you make of it.

I agree, Billings is an awesome place to live. Wish I was still there.

That said, you'll be hand flying a bunch of ex-Mesa 1900's on NDB approaches and overnighting in places live Havre, MT. Pay can be found on www.airlinepilotcentral.com I think they are represented by a railroad union or something like that.

Could be a nice niche job, probably a pretty quick upgrade. If you fall in love with Montana it could be a place to stay, but you'll never get rich or fly anything too fancy. They have some EAS routes out in Idaho, Wyoming and Washington, too.

I think they are still owned by MAIR Holdings, which is Mesaba's parent company. They were originally bought as an extra certificate to whipsaw against the Mesaba guys but ALPA fought it off. Don't know how the mess at NWA/Mesaba could affect Big Sky. Probably not much, I get the feeling they are just a tax write-off for MAIR nowadays.

Do not know much about them....but MAIR the parent company has one of the great visionary leaders at the helm...Paul "how can I retain senior people" Foley. He has such great insight into the industry I am sure they will do very well. Maybe Cargo in SAAB's ..or something like that.

I smell a troll.

Big Sky is hiring into there new Boise ID base, so don't get to excited about the Montana talk.

I have friends out there and life seems good. Small pilot group 10 1900's and 60 some pilots total. 1.5-2 yr upgrade.

anyone know what the schedules are like? are they back at the base most nights. I like the sounds of idaho or montana bases.
