Doug Steeland and Mickey Foret from the NWA board were at the Mesaba training center to "check out their investment." They spent a while here and toured the building and training facilities.

Seems to me they want to see if we can handle a new load of 44-seaters and all the training that comes with it.

But don't worry, there is nothing to announce. Riiiiiiiight...

If any airline gets the 44 or 50 seaters, it will be Pinnacle. Pinnacle will have 138 CRJ's by the end of the year and it is beyond me why NWA would want to give any more RJ flying to Me-saab-a.

The answers to that are self-evident. Why would they want us to hassle with three types, if it was not really necessary? Maybe our insurance carrier has some confidence in us?
We all have growing pains when receiving aircraft, but I hardly pay attention, and I've seen and heard a lot of things over there....
My father, who was a wwii combat marine, said the men in the army he fought with on Guadalcanal were every bit as good as his fellow marines, but the problem was with their LEADERSHIP, namely the officer corps.
So it is with pinnacle...
But maybe i'm just jealous. Who cares. Anyway, I look forward to helping your Strategic Preparedness Committee(strike) in a year or two.

I thought NW has said any new growth goes to other carriers
besides Mesaba and Pinnacle..because of an agreement with

Bull$hit!!! Fatal accidents, major hull damage incidents, stupid radio work, blocking taxiways routinely, and dozens(hundreds?) of violations do not happen everywhere.

Seems that XJ grew a lot a while back and didn't have these "growing pains". Seems many others have grown without nearly so much "growing pain". One our two incidents MIGHT be chalked up to "bad luck". When you see so many in a short amount of time it's a trend. That trend needs to be stopped right in it's tracks before others are hurt. It's debateable if that guidance needs to come from the top down in MGT or in training, or from the feds, but regardless there are problems, and they need to be fixed....Now.

No kidding........Been at XJ since well before 1998 and we've had Metros, Dash-8's, Saabs, Avros.........But no EMB-145's. Keep trying though.

What exactly have I posted that is so bad? I havn't speculated on anything. Only stated facts that are available for anybody to read (NTSB) etc. I also havn't said that their pilots are sub par or anything else. I said that there have been a string of incidents that may indicate that some things may need to be addressed in the Pinnacle corporate structure (management, training issues etc) to prevent further incidents. I think that is the ultimate goal, to prevent other things from happening if at all possible. If I ruffled your feathers, it's your problem not mine. I do not apologize for anything that I have posted. I believe that my posts have been factual and on point. Sometimes reality can be a real slap in the face.

What makes a person a pilot, Towlie? Are you any less of a pilot because you don't know how to use an FMS? Would not knowing what a "GREEN NEEDLE" is make you less of pilot? If you want to blame someone, blame management. Look, people, management is our boss. We work for our management. They can see the big scheme of things. We (pilots) need to stop fighting with management and do what it takes to make them happy. Do you think that they want us to fail. No. They want us to succeed. We, as employees, should be willing to make whatever sacrifices that they deem necessary. This is the 21st century, people. Act like it.

Dude--- Part of what is wrong with this industry are people like you who think they are more than what they really are. I'm not bashing Pinnacle, but they have had a very high number of headlines recently. CHQ is growing like mad and no one hears anything (good or bad) about them. PCL has been around from the 80's and still hasnt figured anything out. Yes a bunch of new jets fast can be a challange for a company... but all the more reason to train the shiznit out of the pilots and ensure maximum caution is taken with the airplane.

P.S. It was ExpressJet who lost an EMB-145 at BPT--- It wasnt an XR they werent around yet, and it wasnt a revenue flight, but I guess the airplane was never really lost... The cockpit is now a Procedures Trainer, and the Cabin is now used for flight attendant and emergency training. Its kinda ironic if you think about the fact that F/A practice emergency drill in an airplane that has already crashed.

With the above quote, it certainly fits your previous statements that 9E pilots are gonna get industry leading contracts in the upcoming negotiations. Because that's EXACTLY what MANAGEMENT wants. So the pilots "should be willing to make whatever sacrifices they deem necessary," and demand that the pilots accept an industry leading contract...
