when did this come about? probably a paycut, and thats why im sitting hot reserve today for the first time ever. THat way, when everyone quits, i'll be the last guy left at the airport, lol

Today's Big Announcement was that there was no Announcement but not to spoil your disppointment....I do have some good news!!!

CASS HAS BEEN APPROVED and will be up and working by the end of the month possibly as early as Monday. source is that lil birdy in the window over the by the hanger at HEF...DEE DOW!!!!!

I just wonder if John Kerry was for the Big Announcement before he voted against it?

Maybe he should have said if you work hard and do good in school you'll go far in the world, if not you'll end up on Hot Reserve....what a tool...
 
Damn, I went to Iraq and i'm on hot reserve. I should have beat his ass last time i saw him in a LGA magazine shop.
 
I thought that they were supposed to announce some new Illinois routes today? Any word on that?
 
I heard today no new midwest routes. they are saying they don't have the administrative infrastructure to handle the 350 pilots they have now, much less add more..(i think we all know this to be true) they said that from now on it is just "measured growth" and that all recent hiring is because of attrition...mainly F/O's leaving...but the chief pilot did think that CASS should be done by monday.

CASS is going to be ready monday just like it was going to be ready in 4-6 weeks back in August and how it was going to be ready in a couple months back in January and how it was going to be .........

This would make sense. I like working at Colgan and it would be great for everyone if we grew some more. It seems like we're streched pretty thin just about everyday flying the routes that we have now.
 
So what without risk you can not gain. Aviation is not a safe industry so who cares, the Chap 11 judge will always forgive the debt!

I guess thats one way to look at it. Colgan is a family company. Think of how many Colgan relatives work for the Company. It's a different situation from a lot of our competitors. There is really no incentive to grow big fast. Conservative, stable, and slow growth is much better. There are no investors or stock holders to please so its best they play their hand with a bit of restraint.
 
Colgan Pilots on the way to Syrma TN to pick up last the 8 SAABs
Remember 10 SAABS were parked there and Colgan already has taken two to IAH. Crew sch is asking people to go to Syrma to take the planes over to BNA to be put them back in shape. Now the big question is where are they going to put them. I here Mikey went to ATL 2 weeks ago and was also up in BOS going over the parking spots for the new operation. If that falls apart my bet is the planes will replace 1900.
 
HR said that they are looking for "100" FOs. Exaggerated of course, but they need pilots! I bet like George said, we are going to start flying in Russia and then to Lebanon out of Beirut. Daily non-stop service to the West Bank! MANPADS look out!!!! Chaff Flare Flare!
