My step dad asked me to do his BFR this year. He has a great 185. I have not flown it in the last year. Do I need to do 3 takeoff's and landing in it to be tailwheel current in order to do his BFR. Can't find the reference for CFI currency just being CFI rated in the category and class.

Thanks,

Chairman

Technically you don't even need a tailwheel or HP endorsement, as I understand it, so no. No need to be "current".

[edit:] Unless, of course, he's not legal PIC that day. [/edit]

I would recommend it though ;)

Fly safe!

SOLO!
Just to clarify the above, correct point. If your father is current in all respects (90 day, BFR, etc) then you do not need to be, because he can be and would be the PIC during the training.
