I have been out of CFI business for almost 5 years..

If you have any online resources for a suggested BFR ground discussion would you mind pointing me in the right direction, please?

A friend has asked to give him a BFR and is insisting to pay a fair amount.

What do you think will be a fair price?

Thank you

http://www.aopa.org/asf/publications/sa03.pdf This document is from AOPA.

http://www.faa.gov/pilots/training/media/flight_review.pdf This document is produced by the FAA and is actually pretty decent. Read thru them and you'll find what you're looking for.

As far as what to charge, I personally charge a bit more than the going rate for the local area but just find an FBO in the area and see what they're charging - in this area, the prevailing rate is $40 an hour in a customer supplied aircraft. Just find out what the local rates are and charge that per hour.

$40-$50 an hour.
But you've been out of the pasture for 5 years?
Are you sure you're doing him a favor by taking care of his BFR ? Is this a "little airplane" BFR ? You might be better off recommending your friend to a CFI who is current and proficient in "little" airplanes and VFR charts.
