Sushi - eating it raw v. cooked

Not all sushi is raw fish; much of it is cooked, such as California roll. The eel varieties are cooked. Here's a link to a site that discusses the differences.
 
If you're in the PHL area, go right across the river into Collingswood NJ. (Yes, I said NJ.) Sagami's is unbelievably good and its not unreasonably priced. Their unagi and toro is delic...
 
So whats everyones favorite sushi now that were on the topic.
Mine is the Unagi Roll, but ever since I wen to Ariyoshi, its been the Sunnyside roll- yellow tail with mayo and tempura flakes on top.
Im surprised no one has mentioned Benihana, although their specialty is more teriyaki and entertainment.
Speaking of which, my gf had sushi on a flight from New York to Japan, but she said it was horrible.. there, now i made it aviation related also. :p
 
Zen Eight in Calgary, outstanding, you really have to get up there.
I had some great sushi on a Cathay flight fro Seoul to Hong Kong once. A nice ride too, I might add.

Favorite sushi varieties

See eel hand roll.

Alaska roll, especially with good smoked salmon.

Caterpillar roll.

Bonita (sp?).

I know my wife would want me to mention that California roll is her favorite. It's one of mine, too.

Inside-out roll.

I recall eating something called rainbow roll several years ago. It was good.
 
yeah. rainbow roll sounds farmiliar...

is it the one witht he diffrent color fish eggs? (hence rainbow)?
