I don't think there are any now. The last two weeks no matter what airport I went through they are making everyone take off their shoes. I was commuting to work the other day and had sneakers on and they made me take them off (CLT). You may be able to do it in uniform though. If so then just do a google search for "airport friendly" shoes. Most companies are putting that label on shoes that don't set off the metal detectors

I've been known to rock flip-flops to work...Then when I get through security I put shoes on. Mainly out of protest but also because I'm lazy and love flip-flops.

The best deal I have found yet is Deer Stags. They are comfortable, look nice, and I have not once set off the detector or been asked to remove them. JC Penny sells them year around for a price of $49.99. If you keep your eyes on them, they frequently have sales that sell them for $39.99. There are a couple of different styles at that price. Good luck.

ECCO. Most comfy shoes I've ever had. No metal, they are slip-ons so if you do have to take them off for an overzealous TSA type, it eases the pain!

I could be wrong, but doesn't it say somewhere in the TSA rules that you're not required to take your shoes off when going through security? I don't know where to look it up.

My shoes set the detector off so I take them off anyway, but if I got "Airport Friendly" shoes I wouldn't want to take them off if I didn't have to just to satisfy TSA.

Agree with TK, Deer Stags work the best and they last. The price is good too.

I think that if you are in uniform, you don't have to take your shoes off, unless of course it sets off the detector.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you aren't required to have to take your shoes off if they ask. I told a screener this awhile back and was read the riot act by the guy. I just said "they aren't going to beep. I do this everyday and have for years, so if they beep you can say, I told ya so." Anyway the supervisor showed up and claimed I had "verbally harrassed" the screener, which was not the case at all. Next thing you know, the TSA is calling the company and I got called on the red carpet but after I explained the situation to the base chief pilot, he just laughed and then got mad at the TSA. Anyway thats why I wear flip-flops on occasion. The moral of the story is when we are in uniform we are big targets for the screeners. We have a job and lifestyle they envy, so its easier to just take your shoes off than let them know the rules.

I'm looking for the best shoes that won't set off the machines at the airport! Thanks!!
A true "mac daddy" pilot would use those shoes with gold fish in the heels. They are sure to set you apart from the rest of the hustlers, players and urban gangtas...and are a hit with the ladies who prefer men with wide brim hats, fur coats and gold chains...my man.
