Why the hurry? Do you think that is a responsible way to learn how to fly? If so, come to NC and I'll teach you how to fly all the way to your ATP for $150,000. (A/C 1500 hours @ $90.00/hr plus $15,000. for the instruction)
No room and board and plan on being here for 6 months and 7 days...flying 8 hours a day. There will be no time for scheduled or preventitive maintenance let alone 100 hour inspections...but what do I care..Ill be making $82,500...sort of a stupid plan once you think about it huh? So once again Ill ask: Why the hurry?

Why the hurry? Just seems flying 1 day a week, maybe 2 if work allows me just isnt getting it done. Hell ill be 40 before I finish.

I'm not joking or pulling your leg...How much to take someone from PPL to CFI, CFII, MEI? I live in N. Carolina - Charlotte. I'm in no rush - 1 year, 4-5 days a week 3 hours max a day.

Runninghorn: You just need to make a commitment to fly a regular amout of time and the time will build. I went form zero time to the airlines in about 4 years and 1 month. (I have since quit from my second airline because I realized that while it was fun to fly for the airlines, it was a terrible career. We all know how bad they pay, and that was ok until I realized how bad the Delta Pilots (with a whole hell of a lot more experience than I) were getting screwed after 20+ years on the job...so why would I count on the income that is being projected now for the future to actually be there when I reach that point...let alone any type of retirement.) Oh and whats wrong with being 40 when you finish...thats how old I was whe I was hired by XJet and my sim partner was 48...on his 2nd career.
 
LAFF: Just figure 90 an hour for the a/c and 25-30/hour for instruction. then find a local CFI to get you going. If you want to do it (A LOT) cheaper, buy an IFR 152 or Cherokee...it could cut your hourly rate in half depending how much you fly. Ill sell you my Cherokee!

thanks. so what do you do for a living now?
 
But you can have a family at any age so what you realy mean is that having a family and flying is a bad thing...not the age. Therefore I think we agree that flying for a living is not as good as it seems.
