Best Miles/Reward Program Credit Card?

Did a search but didn't find too much good info on this topic, what do you recommend for credit cards that offer rewards for airline travel, hotels, etc.

How about just the best rewards card period? I don't care whether it gives out cash or points, as long as the points can be converted to something useful like gift certificates to stores.

I could care less about airline miles or hotels... I'd rather have something a little more generic.

thanks, i'm actually taking a look at the Capital One cards right now, they seem to be a good deal.

Starwood AMEX.. first year is free, after that $30/yr. You can transfer points 1:1 basis to any airline or get free hotel nights.
