ok, i admit it, my gf got me this morning for april fools. Of course, i forgot it was april 1st due to some drinking, but she called this morning freaking out saying she was just in an accident...so im all worried and running out of the house to go get her, and she calls back and says "you are so gullible...april fools!" Now thats cold...good, but cold. so now i need a good way to get her back. any suggestions?

Tell her that you have to break up with her because you got another girl pregnant.

Then when she says "Yeah, right, April Fools", you just tell her that you aren't fooling, and you did that because she Fooled you.

9 months later, proof positive, the jokes on her.

Ha ha, that might work. then of course, the other girl will play an april fools on me...haha april fools..there was a hole in the condom..april fools daddy

Heard it on the morning show today

This was a great one I heard this morning on the radio (ZETA FM, Miami).

They had a guy dressed as a Hollywood producer, along with a camera crew and reporters, go to some IHOP and tell the unsuspecting manager that the Rock was about to show up for a promo visit in a couple minutes. But as a precaution, they would have to go thru security measures. So they removed all the knives in the restaurant and made everyone go thru a security check.

Then, as the limo pulled up, every chump in the IHOP ran outside chanting " The Rock, the Rock!". As soon as the limo door opened, the radio crew jumped inside and split!

Classic!!! :D

ANN (www.aero-news.net) had a bunch this morning, including a turbine KitFox, replacing the 65hp engine with a 300 hp engine. Also, Boyer quit AOPA to go work for Daley's re-election campaign. Reminded me of when they posted Meigs was closed, I thought it was an April Fools joke. It was, just on all of us.

crash-proof

That is the funniest aviator I have ever seen.....Money shot...LOL I haven't been on this site that long to see it before.

This was posted on CAL Forums this morning. Credit to the original poster but I'd don't wanna post his name. Pretty funny though.

Southwest Announces Takeover Bid of ExpressJet

Southwest Airlines Announces Takeover Bid of ExpressJet Airlines

Low fare carrier announces merger valued in the billions

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) -- In a surprise move, Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) announced plans today to acquire regional carrier ExpressJet Airlines (NAS: XJET) from parent company Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) in a deal valued at several billion dollars. Southwest initiated a takeover bid of ExpressJet stock at $20 per share and agreed to pay off ExpressJet's debt owed to Continental, in exchange for ExpressJet's entire fleet of regional jets and it's capacity purchase agreement with Continental.

In a press conference, Southwest's President and Chief Operating Officer Colleen Barett told reporters, "We look forward to our new relationship with ExpressJet and think they will fit in nicely with our operations at Southwest. We can't wait to make them part of our family." She explained that Southwest had been looking at several options to expand, from larger aircraft from Boeing to codesharing with smaller regional airlines. But in the end, aquiring ExpressJet made the most sense, she said.

ExpressJet currently operates a fleet of 235 Embraer regional jets to over 130 destinations in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Up until 2 years ago, the airline had been a fully owned subsidiary of Continental Airlines. But in an effort to pay down it's own debt, Continental spun the regional carrier off into a holding company and leased 100% the regional's seats back in a capacity purchase agreement.

Analysts say that Southwest's aquisition of ExpressJet is a bold move, but it may help Southwest become the dominant carrier in an already fragile airline market. John Holstein of JP Morgan explains, "Southwest and ExpressJet's corporate culture have a lot of similarities. Both have a single fleet type, which keeps costs down. They both consistently have high dispatch, on-time, and reliability performance. Plus, they have quite a bit of common route structure." He went on to explain that ExpressJet already flies in and out of nearly all of Southwest's hubs, making the transition a smooth one.

But analysts are unsure what Continental will do to replace the flying done by ExpressJet. Besides ExpressJet, Continental also uses several other smaller carriers to supplement its flying. It is unsure whether these carriers will have the capacity to pick up all of ExpressJet's current route structure.

But when asked for comment, Continental's CEO Gordon Bathune did not seemed worried. "We are looking at other carriers, such as Mesa to pick up the slack," he said. He then explained that in today's market, there are several regional carriers that have excess capacity available. Mr. Bathune went on to say, "After putting some bids out, I expect that we will find a carrier that will meet our needs, at a lower cost then we currently spend for ExpressJet's services. Really, after looking at Southwest's offer, we just want to take the money and run."

ExpressJet's management seemed excited about the merger. ExpressJet's President Jim Reem stated, "We look forward to serving Southwest in the future. We are confident that they will find that we can deliver the same high quality product that Soutwest customers are used to. This is an exciting moment in our company's history."

There is no word yet on how the two companies will be merged, whether they will remain as separate entities or become a single company. The two companies have different unions representing their work groups, which historically can make for a rough transition. Normally, if two merging companies have the same union, employee integration takes place using an agreed upon system to preserve the employees' senority, but with different unions, there is no such guarantee. "Whatever Southwest decides on, I'm sure the pilot group at ExpressJet Airlines will be happy with the outcome," said Capt. Jay Panarelo, chairman of the CAL pilots union’s Master Executive Council, a unit of the Air Line Pilots Association. "We expect that Southwest will give the pilots of ExpressJet the fair treatment they deserve." Union representitives from Southwest were unavailable for comment.

Southwest shares remained unchanged after the announcement, while Continental's dropped sharply. Shares of ExpressJet Holdings rose slightly after investors heard news of the merger.

This is sadistic

I really nailed (pun intended) a GF many moons ago....I know you all may say i'm crazy and could have been hurt...but it was the greatest.

My GF worked at the mall and had a really bad habit of forgetting to lock her car. Of course she walks out to the outer reaches of the parking lot at 10:30 pm, dark, alone...and the lone rolling rent-a-cop never around. So April 1 falls and she is working all night so I set up the cruelest prank ever.

I don a black ski mask and find her car (Buick Regal)...unlocked again...and cram myself on the rear floor board under some blankets. I know the route she drives home and know the perfect location to make my presence known. I am crouched...along for the ride...she is completely clueless(blonde)...singing along with the radio...and I count stops until we come to the spot I chose.

We stop....and I simply sit up in the back seat....black ski mask in the rear view mirror. Holy shiite muslim. I got the scream I expected...and a bit more...she threw open the door and lit out like she was shot out of a cannon......car still in gear....rolling through the intersection (suburban) with me sitting in the back seat! So I jumped up front and hit the brakes..put it in park and jumped out to holler at the GF....now a block away in a full sprint screaming her head off!! I couldn't stop laughing...until I didn't get any for a week! Man was she pissed off! I can't blame her...but I couldn't resist.

Needless to say...doors were locked from then on.....and my greatest April fools prank is a legend with our friends!

now that is a good April fools joke!!

I gave my PVT groundschool class a ATP Gleim quiz and had the instructor pass it out. When they asked for the figures the inst. told them they should have these down by now. He played a good deadpan, everyone was sweating until he said april fools...

I could see everyone calculating how much it would cost to retake the class...

Doesnt hold a candle to Dubya though, might have to use that one...

Be careful!

If you decide to try my stunt....I was surprised at how quickly my GF reacted getting out the door and down the street! If she would have carried mace or pepper spray or something (another point I was trying to get across to her) ...it may have been a long night for me. Had she sprinted for the nearest house...Johnny Law would have surely gotten a call. I betcha they would have laughed. As it was.....she cried all night and her mom gave me a look that burned a hole in my forehead. Her dad loved it!

Dubya

Damm that was brave but funniest thing I've read on the net in a long time Laughed so hard my eyes teared and stomach got a stitch

Played one on my buddy Had my girl call him at work and say she had to talk to him Told him that she sat me down to tell me something and before she could say anything I said things are not working out we need to break up. At that point she was too upset to tell me what she wanted to say. So she preceeds to tell him that she was going to tell me that she's pregnant
She then ask him to talk to me for her. He agrees and says he'll call me right away. Well after waiting all day trying to figure out what to say to me he calls me and I answer the phone April's fools Ooo man he was pissed because he did not get anything accomplished all day at work while he was trying to figure out how to handle the situation.

I called my captain this a.m. and left him a message we were being written up for sexual harassment for reading maxims in the cockpit. went through the whole chief pilot woke me up this morning and everything. he freaked out and was going insane. I let him off the hook when he called later that day.
