BEST AND WORSE AIRPORT RAMPER PICTURES

An Earlier thread got me thinking this might be a pretty entertaining idea. Go ahead. Post em. I know Ive got some from our AWAC PHL BASE. If I can figure out how to paste some of them I will.

As crazy as things can be on the ramp, I'm not sure if this is a can of worms that should be open publicly. (although the potential for fun pictures is very high)

I have an awesome video of a fuel truck breaking down infront of our airplane and blocking our exit from the ramp, but i wouldn't know how to post it.

How about a feat I have labeled the "Lav Cart Sneak" where the Lav cart sneaks in front of you as you are being marshalled into the gate, doing about 40 in some odd diagonal across the ramp with blue juice flying and three thugs hanging on for dear life... IT'S THE NEXT NASCAR!

Trog...U ROCK!...ive never seen neone with a burninator avatar..my money says most people havent even seen it...well done sir i like it.....

While I can't confirm the story exactly, I'll do my best to be inaccurate. I guess some rampers marshalled or tugged a 1900 wingtip under a tailcone of a 328 with negative effects. They were asked to do the whiz-quiz, and all just turned in their badges. That would have been a good picture.

And if I had a choice, I'd burnitate peoples in their THATCHED ROOF COTTAGES!

I really have to start bringing my camera to work. I'd have enough "relaxing" ramper pictures to fill a photo album in one trip in Atlanta.

Had a "Passenger Sneak" 2 weeks ago. As we were about 30 feet from being stopped, here comes a passenger walking between us and the marshaller. We all did a double take, then the ramper yelled at the passenger and pointed them in the right direction.

Well back when FlyI went under someone forwarded a few "interesting" pics of some FlyI personelle to me. Don't know what I did with them, but they were quite "revealing" to say the least.

TCBKING,

The day you load 11,000lbs of US Mail into the forward pit on a 737NG in a half hour in 95 degree weather, then run your mouth. You probably have no clue what goes on during a regular rampers shift. Especially for the guys who do their jobs and have to pick up the slack for the skaters.

Maybe some of these guys are slow, maybe they aren't the brightest, maybe they busted their @$$es recently and are taking a break. Rampers are assigned to gates usually, and only work their gate. Between flights there is nothing to do but wait.

You would be awfully suprised how many of them are pilots, college students, future professionals who are probably a $hitload brighter than you. ( I mean come on, you couldn't figure out how to get free image hosting on the "interweb")

MAYBE some of them are lazy pieces of sh1t and need to be canned. Write a letter to the ramp duty manager, or whatever you call it at your airline. You don't have the right or authority to confront them about their work, unless of course they are doing something dangerous that directly affects the operation of your airplane.

Mind your OWN Fvcking business, and throw that gear lever. You have no right to harass someone else because of what you percieve to be wrong or lazy.

IF anything comes of this thread, hopefully it's you being told off by your management for talking crap about another department in your company.

You obviously haven't personally experienced the ASA ATL ramp operation. Or maybe you are in charge of it...?

Man metro, you've turned into a real dick lately. Must have hit a soft spot with this one...

Everybody knows the difference between a hard-working ramper taking a break in the summer heat and a lazy-ass ramper not doing their friggin' job. You've obviously never missed a flight (or commute home) because of incompetence, laziness or simple understaffing of a major hub.

And just FYI, I did 14 months as a ramper/gate agent in 98 degree July heat and 8" of midwestern January snow for a company flying POS 19 seaters when I was a college student working on my CFI ticket...so neither you or anybody else will get any sympathy from me for what *I* perceive to be draggin' ass.

Your a tool. You might be one of those LAZY rampers i Dont Know. But what I do Know is that I have worked in those kinds of jobs, be it a plumber, a Furniture mover, construction, and Landscaping. So dont tell me about slackers or the POOR guys that are working so hard. I know where those people are and who they are. I promise you they get a verbal Thank you and a hand shake when they do a good job. As for the rest or should I say 99.999% that just suck, you can have em. Your blind or Biased, or just dont belong on this forum cause you aint seein what im a seein..

99% are lazy. Are unfriendly. Dont care.
But hey for 7.00 an hr. you get what you pay for.

And maybe there are some that are brighter than I am. Congrats to them. But my DAD can beat up your DAD.

Say all that after spending a day at concourse F at PHL... My favorite was recently waiting next to a gate for 10 minutes while there were 2 rampers at the gate next to me doing nothing. Well, let me rephrase, they saw our airplane, proceeded to move the belt loader from the path of our airplane and then one of them went on to read a book in full view of the passengers. Oh, and we were late.. oh, and this disproved another myth... PHL rampers can read.

Now PIT, that is a quality hub operation, usually better then the outstations. What you described I see at the outstations all the time, hard working young people many going to college, this however is not true of the hubs.

What happened to the hot chicks that worked on the express ramp in CLT.
The blond body builder and her girlfriend were always fun to watch in their tight shorts.
