I vote A36. From years of cargo flying in A36's, if it fits in the cabin, It'll fly. I've also seen some AMAZING deals on Barons due to the higher fuel prices. Some were lower priced than comparibly equiped bonanzas. Just a thought...

I'm biased towards the Bonanza b/c of all the years I flew my M35.

When I got re-married a couple of years ago and added 2 new ppl to my 3, I needed to get a bigger airplane, but the A36 wasn't going to fit the bill b/c of it's useful load.

My kids were teenagers and almost full size....I needed more airplane.

I could seat them and close the doors, but 2 hours of fuel won't get us very far and 3 of the 5 are females that "require" a fair amount of luggage.

You've got 4 little ones....and like someone else pointed out, they won't stay little for long and you'll be in the same boat as I was.

The good news is that the A36 will hold it's value well and give you enough equity to put down on a twin.

The alternatives (6, 206, and 210) aren't/weren't all that attractive to me.

DeHavilland Beaver. A true 6 person aircraft (including luggage) Room for the kiddies to grow and you can put it on floats

Oh screw all the ones listed so far! Best 6 place single ever built...PC-12! (6 place, 7 place....heck up to nine place!!)

But then there is that small problem of price tag.........

If you are planning on slumming it, go with the Bonanza, if you are really going to go bilge class go with the Cherokee 6, extra ugly, noisy, and flies like a dump truck but if you can stuff it in the door it will haul it.

Lots of time in all three listed above, all will do the job for you. I would stay away from the T tail Lance though, it takes the dump truck feel to a whole new level!! :)

Hmmm...no one likes the Piper Malibu/Mirage. Leave off some fuel and you can carry six in a pressurized cabin.

Naw...we assumed he loves his wife and children.

lol

Cherokee 6 or Saratoga.
6 place that can actually handle 6 people.
There is always the 206/207 or if you have $$$ C208

CE

Saratoga II TC - Great plane with ample room and a real nice rear door configuration.

Easy to learn to fly, stable in flight, great IFR platform.

Probably one of the widest cockpits out there (if you have a Ford Taurus shape like I do).

The Beaver idea is intriguing. I have looked at Caravan's but don't want/need to part with that kind of dough, I can get another twin for that cashish.
