Great......as if I needed another excuse as to why night work sucks.

Next month, the International Agency for Research on Cancer, the cancer arm of the World Health Organization, will add overnight shift work as a probable carcinogen. The American Cancer Society says it will likely follow. Up to now, the U.S. organization has considered the work-cancer link to be "uncertain, controversial or unproven."

Doesn't shift work imply that you have a schedule? About the only shift I work is no shift at all.

Any mention of what type of Cancel it causes?

Does it make any mention of working a 19 hour duty day and how that may cause severe retardation?

Yeah, prostate for men.

After more research they will find that there is not a higher risk of prostate cancer among those that work the night shift. Rather it is discovered more frequently as someone is always jumping up your arse in this business. Voila…. nightly prostate exams. :(

Plus, consider. If you're aren't trashed on your days off and don't have a cigarette welded to one hand and a cup of coffee to the other on your work days, you're viewed as some kind of a pantywaist.

I'm not saying that's wrong, btw. *puffpuff* *chugchug*

I think all those years of sniffing the mountains of soot that the DC-8 puke out during startup don't help either.

I think it is the other way around. We work 19 hour days because we ARE retarded.

I never said I wasn't. Life is much more fun when your oblivious to what is going on around you. haha

Its terminal

Reminds me of a study that was reported in one of the medical journals. The Brits found that those who drank 6 or more cups of coffee a day had a lower incident of cancer than those who did not, however they had higher incidents of heart failure. Something is gonna get you some day, so why sweat the small stuff. Life is a terminal sexually transmitted affliction.

That just must have been a prostate exam almost every day I worked at Gemini. I guess I should tell my wife they really did care.

I wouldn't sweat the radiation. Heck, the bad maintenance, or a massive coronary from the suck lifestyle will probably kill ya before the radiation does.
