flyboy said:I knew a guy who recently got hired at AirWis with 1000TT and 300 multi. How does this happen? He didn't even meet the mins. What makes an HR person hold one resume that excedes the mins by hundreds of hours, and then look in the other hand at someone who doesn't even meet mins and say, "Hum, I think we'll hire this guy."? Also, aren't transtates minimums 1500TT and 500 multi? How does someone get in with only 220 multi and a little less than the mins in the total column?
AWAC have hired some pilots of late with lower than min times (it's kind of an experiment), 1 with NO 135 / 121 time just 1400 of their own time! There is also a a CAE deal going where students from RAA go to CAE in DEN and do the COMM type rating in the RJ and may be interviewed at AWAC No guarantees of anything JUST an interview shot. All at a cost of $18,000 just for the CAE training.
They (AWAC) are figuring that if they get low timers in they will stay longer (read - less time and experience) than jump ship asap. This is probably due to new hires will be FO's for 3+ years (as things stand) from now and they have had a couple of higher timers jumping ship in mid training.
