Hi,

I have been out of the loop. What airlines are hiring off the street these days and at what hours are people being hired and at which airlines?

Thanks in advance!

interview/job offers from Corporate Airlines, Mesa, Trans-States.

Took the Trans States job.

Then got interview offers from Chautauqua, Skywest.

Staying with Trans States.

3000 total, 700 multi, all piston, ATP, 4 yr. degree. I didn't know anyone at any of these airlines. The only two i didn't get calls from that I applied to were Comair/ASA. Trans States should be doing a lot of hiring through 04 and probably 05. Lots of growth as United Express(I guess replacing ACA?) I know many who have gotten calls from Eagle and Coex. Send the resumes, now's the time.

Hired at Comair in December

3600 total, 3000 ME, 2800 Turbine ME, 1600 Turbine ME PIC, ATP, Beech Type, Masters Degree

Hired by Pinnacle

I got hired by Pinnacle on Monday, interviewed last Thursday. 5380 total, 99% military, 3500 PIC turbine.

Interview candidates had wide variances in times. I think I was high man, and I know one guy had 1500 total, no turbine (a few hours as copilot) and took the ATP written the week prior. Everyone seemed like good guys and all were happy to be there.

I have apps in with ATA, AirTran, Jet Blue, SWA. None of them have called yet and I was available starting in October. Supposedly, the trend is for hiring increases for most everyone this year.

Good luck,
Catfish

Interviewed and offered jobs at Eagle and Trans States. Tomorrow is my second interview with ExpressJet. I accepted Trans States, but I'll change to XJT in a heartbeat if offered.

2150 & 650 multi. Part 135 freight dog. I knew no one at TSA or Eagle. Got the XJT interview with no help also, but then called up some friends and got a few letters to take to the interview.

Interviewed: Mesa, TSA
Job offers: Mesa, TSA

Upcoming interviews: Express Jet

TT: 3700
ME: 700
TURBINE: 1750

Good luck!

Chautauqua - 1100 TT, 220 ME

My advice is to start applying EVERYWHERE as soon as possible. I've gotten replies from Chautauqua, Mesa (I know, I know), Commutair, and ASA, even with my low time.

Just start getting your name out there. Things are moving.

I don't know how you do it. I have 2000 h 850 multi, 750 multi turbo-prop, 135 experience and a bachelors and didn't get a call yet. I just get upgraded to captain, so I am going to stick around for another year but.....not one call for interviews.

I know other co-pilots with similar situations and they didn't get a call yet. I confess one copilot got hired last week with a regional, but definetly things are not that hot yet.

Scube!

16 New Hires in the March Mesaba class and rumors everywhere from pretty reliable sources that Mesaba or Big Sky (Flown by Mesaba Pilots), stands a good chance to get a feed going for Air Tran soon. Mabye even take over for Air Whisky all together. Get your apps in folks!

did you stretch the truth on your profile just a little bit?

come on, be honest.
No kidding I read his post, then looked over at his profile:
Flown: 767,757,777,737,MD11

Civ/Mil: Civilian

Ratings: 767/757,777,737

Current Position: F/O

Total Time: 10,500
And was like:eek:

I knew a guy who recently got hired at AirWis with 1000TT and 300 multi. How does this happen? He didn't even meet the mins. What makes an HR person hold one resume that excedes the mins by hundreds of hours, and then look in the other hand at someone who doesn't even meet mins and say, "Hum, I think we'll hire this guy."? Also, aren't transtates minimums 1500TT and 500 multi? How does someone get in with only 220 multi and a little less than the mins in the total column?

Interviewed with Great Lakes in Denver last Thursday and got the call yesterday. Training in Cheyenne, Wyoming starts on the 8th of March. Took the job and thanks for the offer. 1150 TT and 85 Multi. Upgrade is pretty quick. Last night I got home and got a letter from American Eagle for a future interview...huh. Even though Eagle is a bigger company, Great Lakes is an opportunity I cannot pass up. Possible upgrade in year.

Aren't a guys leaving Lakes for other Regionals like QX, AWAC, SKW, etc????
Why not take Eagle from the start, if offered a position?

ILStoMinimums-
Man those are personal choices.. Locations, QOL, etc. You should know that! Some of the folks going to the Jet regionals/Nationals are FO's who would prefer not to upgrade at Lakes.. again a personal choice.

One captain just gave his two weeks for ATA. The same day another was cleaning out the v-file for AmWest. Also a couple more (as usual) are off to Frontier, while a few more just got their tentative dates with SWA.. (been a busy two weeks huh) and this is not out of the ordinary.. We are severely short on Captains with all the movement.

Movement is going in all directions from Lakes.

Relic 01, How did you get the interview, was that luck or you knew somebody in there? Just wondering...

In any case congratulations.

I'm making a personal choice now to go to Lakes and hopefully it pays off. Like canadflyau said there is a lot of movement now at Lakes and I think the chance to upgrade is one I cannot let go shyly. I have three friends at Eagle, one soloed me in 1998. He has been at Eagle for 4-5 years and is still an F.O. in the ERJ; The other has been at Eagle for 3-4 years and is also an F.O. He is just leaving the ATR's on the rock for ERJ's out of ORD.

I feel blessed to even have a choice but Lakes it is. I do know someone at Lakes who walked in my resume. Same at Eagle. Network, network, network.

Holiday Inn Cheyenne...here I come.

canadflyau, any pointers for me? Looking forward to seeing you on the line.

;)

Relic01,
I just want to warn you that canadflyau is getting ready to upgrade to the left seat of the Beech1900 so watch out for him, he's a real harda$$. :)

Hi!

Icywings2:

My airline is hiring, and we just lowered our mins. They were 2000/1000 with a jet type-rating preferred.

Now they're down to:
1200 Total, and 750 MEL.
ATP certificate or ATP written by the first day of ground school.

Entry level position is as a DA-20 F/O.
Starting pay as a DA-20 F/O is $300 per week while in training. Upon successful completion of training, base monthly pay is $43 per hour with a 65-hour guarantee.
DA-20 pilots receive 8 days off per 28 day bid period.
Be willing to sign a 24 month, $18,000 training agreement/contract.

Supposedly the new hires don't have a contract. THe pay works out to about $33K/yr. base. Upgrade to Capt or DC-9 FO (base pay $37K) is looking about 12 mos for new hires.
www.activeaero.com

There is a fee to apply ($35?).

Flyboy:
They may have been in a type of intern program through their flightschool, or they may have known someone at the airline.

If U start getting upset about who is hired, it'll just make U bitter and harder for U to get hired. SOme guys with almost no experience get in, while others with tons can't get an interview.

Once you're at the interview, it is a crapshoot. Does the person interviewing "like" U? If yes, you're in, if no, you're out, regardless of your qualifications. If U like an airline and don't get hired, try again ASAP.

It's very random. You've got to keep trying.
