Anyone with some experience flying a kingair B100(garrett engines), let me know how you felt about this a/c especially its handling and landing qualities. Thanks.
I have a few hundred hours in the beast. I liked it. When I flew them, I had flown Metros and other heavy aircraft so I didn't have any problem with them. But they don't fly like the other King Airs. You have to leave a little power on hen you land.
All the B100's I flew had Hi float gear so their touch down was a little better.
Best thing I liked about them was their fuel efficency.
The B100 is the same as any other King Air I have flown, respect it, fly it correctly, and don't fall behind the power curve and you are fine. Power management is the key in this airplane. Just make sure that you bring along extra current limiters with you on your trips.
A tad tricky down low till you get the hang of it then a "fun" aircraft to fly. The noise level is the only negative aspect of it that I am not too fond of however a good ANR headset seems to solve this problem. Spinning the props in the winter months also isn't the greatest but oh well.
As long as you carry some power down with you then the landing's are uneventful just don't chop the power since it will fall like a rock and you can be assured of an abrupt and rough touch down. Like I said "power management" is the key especially during the landing phase of the flight.
Overall I find it to be a very enjoyable bird to fly since it is somewhat more "challenging" to operate than the 90's, 300, or 350. Just my $.02.
Thanks for the info. I have only a few hours in this a/c and agree with everything you have said. Had a little trouble with that first landing and it has bothered me all weekend.

It took me some time to get comfortable with the flight handling differences between the 100 and the rest of the King Air fleet but once that took place then all was well.... A pretty fun aircraft to fly once you get used to flying it. Let us all know how you enjoy flying the 100.??
