I'm going to be giving about 50 hours of SOE to a pilot in a Beechjet. What's the going rate per day for SOE? Would you use the same pay as contract pilot service, or charge more since this guy doesn't know a thing about the airplane?

Also, does anyone have any study materials on the differences between the 400A and the straight 400 that could be e-mailed to me? I know there are a quite few, but don't know off hand what they are.

Thanks in advance.....

Quite a few differences, fuel system, ac electrical, weight/balance, o2 and limitations.

Yeah, I know there are quite a few. I edited the original post. Thanks.

I just happen to have the Flight Safety training manual cd, I think it's a pdf file I could try to send you.

Who's giving who the SOE? I would imagine the guy knows a little bit about the airplane.......he is typed. Sounds like you should just charge a daily rate, since you don't know a whole lot about the plane either.

Gee, thanks for the kind words. I've got 2,000 hours in a 400A, but I don't have any in the straight 400. I know there are quite a few differences, but I have about two months to learn them. I've heard they aren't that tough. I'm not too concerned with it.

All my Beechjet time was in the 400A about 7 seven years before I started flying this 400. Your right the differences are not that drastic took me about a day with the 400 manual to figure it out.

That's it and after tomorrow it will probably be the heaviest straight 400 in the fleet.

How heavy is it? We've got one that ways in around 10,312 empty and around 10,800 with crew, charts, and stores. I thought that was pretty heavy for a straight 400. Our other 400 is the highest time 400 in the fleet and is a great performer weighing in around 10,500 BOW.

Right now it's empty weight is 10,294. We are at this moment installing new chairs per a service bulletin, the same as a 400xp has and that's going to add about another 50 lbs or so making the empty weight about 10,350.
