crybaby!:crying:
yep, 26 and already a big airline captain. I'm comin' for your job old guy. AND your cute FA's ( I'm sure your wife's already doin' the pool guy or the neighbor, plus I don't like old nags!).smfav8r said:And with your comment, I walked the line in 89 with EAL. I'm sure your to young to remember that. Your just another young and cocky RJ pilot who needs a little learning!

If you think putting a DAL jet on ASA's or any other regionals property is the answer, your an idiot! Have fun flying a 767 for $70 an hour for the rest of your life.
I've always said that the RJ's don't pay enough, if your an RJ Captain, you should be making a min of $100 an hour as a 2-3 year captain with a cap at 12 years in the $150-$160 area. (for the 50 seat jet, add more for the 70 and add more the 90 seat) This is the answer, not flying bigger equipment for less.
Trust me, DAL and the rest of the mainline's are chomping at the bit to get regional pay and workrules. (hell, we are almost at regional rates) Easy fix, would be to put those aircraft at the regionals.
Delta started this mess with the RJ's at Comair and Comair continued the mess by having crappy pay rates.
The model worked for a period of time in the 90's. This is because everyone was hiring and a regional was a stepping stone to a better job. Not anymore.
Now that the cycle has come to a screaming halt, a regional may be your whole carreer.
Would you rather get paid what you deserve now?
Or would you rather take another pilot's job for crappy pay? And have no future in this business?

hey said:I think most people were able to pick up on this, but let me explain....
<--- this is called a "winky." The winky is commonly used to show that the author of the post/thread is joking and thus, not to be taken seriously.
ohplease! said:Maybe the Delta pilots will go on strike and Delta will let DCI pilots fly their big planes. We could fly them for 70 seat RJ rates to get them on our porperty and then raise the rates in the next contract. Whatdoya' think guy's?![]()
smfav8r said:Understand the winky, but let me fill you in on my fustration.
I went out to dinner with a friend of mine who happens to be a management consultant for DAL the other night. DAL wants to outsource ALL of there domestic flying to DCI! DAL is trying to figure out how to accomplish this without causing the pilots to strike, thus putting DAL into chapter 7. By the way, if mother Delta goes down, so does DCI.
So the fact that young DCI capt. with the maturity level of my 3 year old would make a statement like that scares the hell out of me.
If he said it, even in jest, you can bet there are 5000 young and dumb pilots behind him that are willing to do it.
So let's say that DAL gets there wish and DCI crew's all the domestic flying. How long before MESA or Trans States puts a proposal in front of DAL management proving that they can save DAL $10mil per year on the domestic route structure since there crews fly the same equipment for less.
Now all of the current DCI crews that took the DAL jobs are out of a job. Where does it end?
Can you see the problem?
I don't even work for DAL, but as a pilot, it bugs me.
What is with this younger generation of pilots? Fly for next to nothing to achieve what, that major job. It's never going to be available if you keep flying for free.
And I don't get the cockiness and lack of maturity. I will not let me wife and kids fly on a RJ because of this.
And for Mr Auburn, guess what, at 25 I was a captain on a Real Jet built by Boeing, not some POS Canadian RJ, making about twice your current salary years ago. (I actually have the experience to call it a POS unlike yourself)
And my wife wouldn't touch a childish boy like yourself, your loss, she's really good.
Keep killing the job boys, enjoy the race to the bottom!

General Lee said:All of the domestic flying, eh? Even the 757s from SEA to ATL? Riiight. We won't allow that, nope. Bring on the liquidation in that case. Tell your friend it won't happen. We lost all of the loyalists--the 2300 senior guys that would have voted for that. We are junior now, and won't give it up. If it goes away in chap 7, sobeit.
Bye Bye--General Lee
Haha $100/hr to start for a plane is a money LOSER? You have got to be kidding me. Lets be realistic here the 50 seat plane is a money loser. Sure when fuel costs are low its ok but those days are over. $150 top out for the RJ? Most majors don't top out at that for the 737. Sorry the job really isn't that hard. I can see making that for planes with low cost per seat mile but the RJ is ridiculous. Its a nice plane to fly and ive enjoyed my time in it but lets be real here. The RJ is 100% dependant on major airline feed. Sorry theres no way to command that kind of money. As far as the 70 seater goes we still do quite well even with the paycut at comair thank you very much. Maybe you just want us to price ourselves out of the market so you can get the flying back. Sorry ain't gonna happen. We live in the real world not fantasy land.smfav8r said:This really isn't worth the effort it takes to type, but here it goes.
