Mission: Best BBQ

And I think I have found it. Bobbysamd and I ventured out earlier today in search of what might just be the best BBQ (at least in Denver, CO) I have ever eaten. Armed with appetites, taste buds, and wives for moral support, we enjoyed some of Brothers BBQ's finest menu offerings.

I can tell you that the brisket and pork shoulder were cooked just perfectly. The were unbelievably tender and not dry unlike some other BBQ vendors I have sampled. My wife said the BBQ chicken sandwich was worth a return trip.

They have a variety of sauces on the menu from vinegar and mustard based to Texas and K.C. style. The two I tried were nothing less than delicious. And, from the picked clean spare rib bones and sauce smeared across Bob's face I could tell that a second visit will definitely be in the near future!

It is confirmed. I'm a BBQ junkie and I have found my methadone.

Mission: Successful... Returning for seconds...

Cheers,
Skyking

Part II-

Once again, I have yet to see any place top Pe Te's BBQ in Houston Texas. The BBQ there is amazing. There was also a BBQ joint in Norman Oklahoma at the Ramada hotel that was also good.

I will have to give it a try if I'm ever down there...

I think you will absolutely enjoy and will make many more trips there once you try it. You will be hooked.;) The atmosphere is great as well, lotsa signed pictures of famous aviators and astronauts that decorate the walls. It is a block away from EFD, about a 10 min. drive from HOU.

Well worth the trip.

D@mn I miss $HOU

BBQ and aviation memorabilia? Sounds like fun.

Yeah, I was taken by the pictures, history, etc, when I first stopped in there. I personally enjoyed all the NASA stuff that is there as well as all the other good stuff but best of all was the BBQ.:D

I recall one of the workers there stating the Challenger crew as well as most other astronauts make it a daily ritual.-

neat place, just wish I was still in the area.

Hey whats the address of this good BBQ place in Denver? I got a friend coming back from virginia and his gf is gonna be back there for 2 extra weeks, so its guys night out. Some of us Denverites need to start a post with the best food places in the Denver area. Also can someone tell me why Denver International Airport still doesnt have a Starbucks

Brothers BBQ (the location we went to) is located at the northeast corner of I-25 and Arapahoe Rd. Dude, Starbucks sucks a$$. Peaberry Coffee is way better.

Doesn't this thread belong under the chemgoo string?

How are we supposed to keep that one going when all of the good posts are put elsewhere? Come on man, get with the program!

:D

Seconded. Skyking wrote a great, and accurate down to the sauce smeared on my face, review.

Brothers has won several awards. Anyone who flies into APA should make it a point to go to Brothers. The Brothers store we went to is off I-25 and Arapahoe Road, extremely convenient to the airport (and not that far from DEN via I-70 to I-225 to I-25, but allow yourself time to get there through the road construction). Guaranteed, you won't be disappointed.

Bon appetit!

I love the batter fried corn on the cob.

How about that female oil wrastin' in the bar.??:D

That truly was a sight to see. I believe they still do it on tuesday or thursday nights.:p Was very hard to concentrate when looking forward to this event. I now know why Airman's CFI program is so popular.

Some of the best ribs I have ever had were from a small restaurant in Weirton, WV named DJ's. This place is about a half an hour from PIT and the ribs are absolutely delicious. I'd recommend it to any BBQ lover.

There's Bob's BBQ in Ada, Oklahoma, only a short work from the airport. The BBQ there is also terrific, and I heard it was even better years ago.

Bob's in Ada, OK is also very good. I don't think the two are owned by the same person, but they are both excellent places to eat at.

Well boys I think you all got it wrong, where do they hold the Worlld's BBQ cooking Contest, with the cooking channel and Al Roker coming every year. It is MEMPHIS, TN. If you cannot find the best here you are crazy. From Interstate BBQ, The Rendezvous, or Corky's (the only BBQ rest. that ships worldwide overnight on FedEx) Come to Melvis to taste the best.

Georgia has its share of good barbecue. Among the best are many small mom-n-pop operations, many of which are only open on weekends.

My personal favorite is Zeb's in Danielsville GA. This is just northeast of AHN.

Barbecue in the south is like fine wine in France. If you go 100 miles, it is totally different. And I havn't found any region that tops Northeast Georgia.

Close... US Highway 70 to Mason, TN and BOZO's B-B-Q... the real deal.

Those others you listed are OK, but compared to Bozo's...

well, it's like comparing a Big Mac to a homemade, backyard char-broiled steak burger. Bozo's wins, hands down. WELL worth the drive.

:)

Whatayathink?

OK Denver guys...

What is your impression of Sam Taylor's over at Leetsdale and Cherry? I have eaten there a few times, but it was 4 or 5 years ago now. Have you guys been there recently, and how do they compare to the rest of the BBQ joints in town? They were great back then.

Hey SK and Bobby, I haven't been to Brothers yet, but when I get the chance to go I'll let you guys know! I'd like to be able to put a face to all these great posts...
