base closings

the air national guard's 179th Airlift Wing is located at KMFD near my hometown. it is one of the military bases that is slated to be closed by the latest round of closings. i am curious what effect this might have on the other daily operations of the airport. i think there are 8 or 9 C-130 aircraft based there, and hundreds of soldiers. if the base closes, do you think that the airport would raise landing fees and other costs? have any of you flown into a municipal airport that used to have a military presence and then didn't? do you know if the lost revenue for the airport will be passed onto GA pilots?
